Would love to know what other fellow hackers are building & how are they planning to market it.
I'm building Abun
To be honest, I have not been able to focus on the marketing side of things.
Here is what I am doing/planning to market it
Your turn 👇🏻
I'm building Lifestack, a calendar app to optimize schedules using health data from wearables.
I'm mostly marketing it through Reddit and social media.
Recently built nextstepjs, light weight onboarding wizard for Nextjs and released it as open source npm package.
Key Use Cases:
I'm starting a newsletter with strategies and tips for getting initial traction. To market it I'm:
I'm blogging a lot (writing about startup life) and really enjoy content creation.
I'm just starting and so far, I've been launching on various platforms (various times) to see how much I can make without paying for paid ads. I'll come back here next week to update the numbers.
Interesting. What have you built?
I'm building incidenthub (dot) cloud - a SaaS that monitors status pages of cloud and SaaS providers. My marketing plan is currently focused on SEO-focused content generation, reaching out to my network, and participating in communities where my users hang out.
Interesting. How are you doing the content? Manually or AI?
Manually. I use AI to generate ideas but ultimately the content is mine.
I'm launching Rewardful Tools, an anti-directory directory that pays users cash back rewards.
My marketing plan is to
Sadly I've been dismissive of sharing on social and now have to play serious catch-up. Oh well, more fun )
Best of luck to everyone hustling here!
Hi Aziz 👋🏻
Have you launched it yet? Rewardful is an existing SaaS for affiliate marketing/tracking. You might have difficulties ranking for your brand keyword on Google.
Hi Amin!
I launched a waitlist sign-up landing page. Launching beta this month 🤞
Yeah, that might be an issue but the target audience and thus keywords are quite different so my hope is there won't be a significant overlap if any. Besides, they're one of the platforms I plan to partner with.
Yes, I can understand that the target audience is different. But if you google up "Rewardful Tools" Rewardful shows up. I know this can change once you have good domain authority and so forth, but if I would be in your shoes, I would change the name.
I haven't done any SEO yet but I hear you. I'm not married to the name so if push comes to shove I will change it. Thanks for the advice, Amin!
It's also trademark infringement.
Hi Amin - I'm building Graphs. I'm not allowed to post links yet but you can find it on X at 'graphsgame'. Graphs combines the daily web game genre (Wordle, NYT Mini Crossword, Connections, etc.) with data visualization.
Every day, you are given a nameless graph and 5 options to select the right dataset it is representing. Upon winning, you can access the underlying dataset and other info + maintain a streak and stats. It's super simple - check out today's chart and you should be able to get the gist quickly.
I started building it a month or two ago and would love feedback.
Abun looks great! I'm not the target demographic but the landing page looks solid. I've found that communities like Reddit are great for sharing posts too. Good luck!
Wow! The idea is very interesting. Loved it.
It would be more exciting if I could choose a category/genre and guess it in those.
Also, have the ability to play past graphs.
Thanks for the feedback! I am making “packs” of Graphs that will be based on genre so stay tuned…
You can play past Graphs! Click the “play more button after any Graph is played or go to the first button up top and click “Archive” in the dropdown. Alternatively, swipe left or right on mobile or use the left or right arrow keys on desktop to toggle
I am buidling videofeedbackr, (well, rebuilding) :)
I market it by
How is the tool different from Loom/Vidyard or others in the market?
We are in the process of constantly improving and continuing to build the Mint Service Desk.
We are doing pretty well with (oh irony :) ) - on premises. Recently we launched SaaS version of our product. It's been a long journey. Our platform is very generic and can cover many different use cases. That's why one of the things we are currently doing is launching different SaaS products that are a preconfigured version of Mint Service Desk.
We are also looking right now for creators who don't have a technical team, nor DevOps but want to start their business. In many cases, our platform can cover it.
I'm new to the platform so if you believe that's the case for you. Let's get in touch.
Mintsd looks great! G2 & Capterra Badges look great. However, the landing page could be designed better.
How are you marketing/selling this product?
@aminmemon - Thanks :) We are still working on the marketing part. I'm aware that the website requires way more attention. Our marketing right now is based mostly on AdWords + tradeshows + word of mouth. The main problem we have is that the whole team is technical and we simply suck at marketing :( We also do some side projects (based on Mint) under different branding. Since we have a ready platform deployed on AWS all we need to do is to configure the system in a way that addresses the business use case, save the seed, and test the market. Of course, the marketing part is still the problem.
I'm building ContentScribe, an open-source AI content writer with the unique ability to codify your common writing tasks. Some examples include:
Our marketing efforts have been focused on platforms like Reddit, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn.
That's nice. I don't think there is any good open source AI Content Writer in the market as of now.
Hi Amin,
I’m building SignalWhisperBot, my first product as a solopreneur.
This is a bot to convert Signal voice messages to text.
As a backend developer, marketing is new to me, so here’s what I’m currently focusing on:
I’ll bookmark this post to learn from others’ marketing strategies. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is doing!
Great! You should add a link to your product in the comment so others can check it out :)
Unfortunately, I am not allowed to post links for the moment :(
