🔨 What are you building this week? 👇 (mine's a solution to emailing yourself)

As we start a new week I'd love to know what my fellow peeps are working on!

I'm currently working on Hitsnag.com which gives you email shortcuts to your favorite productivity tools! It controls the chaos and makes life easier for those who email themselves by letting you just send ideas and todos straight to places like Evernote and Trello.

This week I'm working more on the backend! Last week was getting the landing ready for the launch which is sometime next month! It's deployed to hitsnag.com right now!

What are you building this week? Post it below 👇

You'd make my entire week if you could throw an email on the waitlist if you email yourself a lot! (Plus you get a discount for doing so) https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/hitsnag

Cheers!

PrivaNote (https://privanote.xyz), super excited about it. Just putting the finishing touches now before I launch on Product Hunt later.

It's basically a note taking application, but:

The best thing of all is that it was super easy to create as all the existing infrastructure was already place. It's the second of various products I want to build on top of Portabella, the first of which being Portabella Feedback.

Nice Alex! I work on Tabtimize myself and also have plans to launch on PH.

What do you have in mind in relation to PH and promotion? Do you just submit PrivaNote and wait for people to upvote or are you trying to create some buzz on other channels first?

      1. 1

Hey Jay, good question and good luck with Tabtimize!

I've launched a few things on ProductHunt already (https://twitter.com/Alex_B_H_/status/1343251116272865280), some went well others not so well.

I think PrivaNote could be popular on Hacker News as well so potentially a combination of:

        • Twitter followers
        • Hacker News traffic
        • emailing my (small) mailing list

Could be enough to get it on the front page of PH. Which is what you need to get the upvotes rolling in.

        1. 2

          Thank you.

I think PrivaNote could be popular on Hacker News

I agree. Definitely think it might get some tracktion on HN.

as well so potentially a combination of: Twitter followers
          Hacker News traffic
          emailing my (small) mailing list

Sounds like a good plan. Thanks for the answer.

      Awesome! Like the feedback portion!

        Thanks! Really appreciate it

I am building an automatic image background remover - backgroundcut.co. As of now I am working on to improve the quality of cutouts.

      1. 2

Hi Kaushik. I am mainly inspired by them. My main issue with them is that they are way to expensive for a very limited features available. I want to build a more affordable background remover with a better editor. Any feedback on the product is greatly appreciated.

Building something thats not software for once, a literal nightstand from ikea then working on clearing my bookmarks of what I dont need anymore.

Hitsnag seems like a cool Idea, I am excited for you!

Did you do a paid listing for ProductHunt or the free one?

I have been working on this platform which we just released on january 1st. I have not yet listed on product hunt but wanted to see if I should do the free listing or paid.

    Whats the platform about
My platform is an end-to-end content marketing platform that facilitates co-branded content curation, aggregation, and distribution, all for free.

    Our Typical User
Our typical user is a person, brand, or business that’s looking for effective social media marketing, increased brand awareness, and higher quality leads, without having to sacrifice their time, budget, or resources.

Thanks, doing the free listing, I just don't have the money to throw at paid ship right now.

      1. 2

I think you misunderstood. My main question was did you use the free or paid listing on product hunt?

My platform has nothing to do with product hunt. It's just a completely free content marketing and social media management tool.

        1. 1

I meant to say I use the free listing 😂

Paperless.io - we are in the last steps / preparations for our launch in February. If you have any feedback let me know it!

Mass SMS / MMS marketing from an android phone . Auto replies , keyword lists and no pay per message . https://textsoda.com .

    Joined the waitlist.

This week I'm building more templates for https://fastur.com my drag and drop site builder.

    1. 1

You're awesome! Would love to see a drag and drop builder one day that lets you smoke test if people will start paying for product ahead of time with integrations like stripe or Paypal and you could take a cut for those transactions!

Putting the "finishing touches" on a first iteration of my landing page for a SaaS I'm bootstrapping; used to work in VFX/Animation and am building a pipeline for small studios or teams to help them manage digital assets and workflows. The purpose of this is to start writing content, funnelling people into the signup flow and see if I can get any meaningful traction before I continue developing an MVP for the next 6-12 months.

    1. 2

Nice, Id try to watch YCs SUS video on MVPs though if you want to learn how to reach users sooner.

      1. 1

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give them a watch :)

  9. 2

Signed up to the waitlist and landing looks nice btw. I'm trying to build better habits and prevent myself from getting distracted online so much.

    1. 1

Thanks for the feedback and appreciate the sign up! I'd suggest the motion extension or leechblock, those have helped a lot and saved me from myself.

      1. 2

Thanks man, can you post the links?

  10. 2

Probably mess around with gpt-3 and see if I can automate building ppt presentations 😅

    1. 1

Thats awesome. The thought of pushing a button and a presentation automatically being built makes my wallet feel lighter already! Let me know if you have any feedback for hitsnag.com!

  11. 2

Going to be documenting the troubles I run into over the course of the week so I can find better problems to solve then ask friends if they have the same!

    1. 2

Nice! Try to see how much of a burden each "trouble" is and which happens the most often. Also, sign up to the waitlist if you haven't already and I'd be glad to do the same for yours when you come around to building something! 😋

We're working on updating the AI algorithm of the BGremover. It's an AI background remover that can help you eliminate images' backgrounds with one click. And we just launched an AI Image Enhancer , an integrated tool for improving image quality. Come to our website https://vanceai.com/ for more useful AI image editing and enhancement tools !

Currently preparing for the public launch of ruttl.com. Fixing some major bugs that was becoming hinderence to the launch. Also focussing on email marketing big time. You can check the product here app.ruttl.com and get our boring emailers :P

This week I am starting on an in-game/in-app purchasing API to add to my company's capabilities. We are a micropayment processor. It currently works as a paywall or fast checkout method on websites, but needs to be able to accept purchases directly from games and apps.

Thanks for the kind words. Is this something you personally think you can use? or find relevance in your workflow?

        1. 1

I do sometimes use django and they have 2fa plugins, its probably only of high concern if I have lots of users on a paid app (Which is hopefully a problem I'll be able to encounter later this year)!

          1. 2

Thanks for the info and for taking your time to go through it. I also wish you success in your app.

            1. 1

              Cheers and same to you!!!

Gardeners in my part of the world are starting to plan for the Spring. I've got a few ideas for content that could be helpful for them, and help me build an audience for my project What Is A Farm. This week, I plan to launch a blog with at least one such post and start promoting it on my social media channels and on other relevant platforms.

I also just added this project to Indie Hackers, but it's still in the moderation queue. I'm exploring software ideas to help people who grow their own food. I'm excited about some of them, but I'm (mostly) resisting the urge to jump immediately into coding. For now I want to connect with more of these people and make sure I really understand where the pain points are. Please reach out if you're interested in this topic!

Nice and like the thinking for testing the waters first!

I'm working on Curabase (curabase.com) -- a bookmarking tool for teams.

I rebooted it this year and have been making tweaks and improvements to the UX.

I use it daily and pretty much only build for myself (that is until I get a lot more users with opinions). :-)

Building a Thread Maker for Twitter. Creating threads should be easy. https://threadmaker.co started as a self helping product but now it is open to everyone.
