If you have $85 in yout pocket, what are you going to do to save your business? Will you spend it on written words branding?
$85 won't go very far for branding. But the question of where to spend money is impossible to answer without understanding your business. It's kind of like asking "I'm lost in the woods, should I go straight or turn left or right?"
absolutely not. It's just a dot-dot kinda question. I mean it's just an intro to get know what can you expect from S85. I asked this unclear question in purpose to encourage others to start figuring out. So the question is, will you spend your $85 on branding even if it's one-off payment?
Nice analogy 👌🏻
I would say plainly, no. I wouldn't spend it on branding. If I have only 85$ to save my business, I would probably spend it exclusively on customer acquisition. All or nothing.
Written words branding takes much more than 85$, it is a long term commitment.
What will you do with customer acquisition? Doesn't branding have the same purpose to acquire the customers?
With 85$ I can have dinner with a customer and convince him to buy my product, for example.
I think you should define 'written words branding'.
In my head, customer acquisition goes from paying the phone bill, train or tram tickets for a visit, or even an adwords campaign.
While branding goes for establishing my presence, defining public values, perhaps a new logo. If it's only words, then it would be a blog post, some special keywords on my landing page, etc. If I have only 85usd left, it would be too late for any of this. And for 85usd I wouldn't expect any serious person to sit more than 2 hours to discuss my business, even less time to sit down and write something for me. 85usd branding feels like an all you can eat for 5usd... There's no way I won't have food poisoning after that, and I'll be 5usd poorer.
Anyways, those are my thoughts based on the premise of your first post. I won't engage anymore in this discussion.
I like the way you describe it and yes I agree with you. Even $85 can't get you "all you can eat" branding services, even though you can get it from any sellers, I bet you will only get the "junk food" and can't promise what will happen to you in the future. But you may get "a la carte" branding service or we might call it "non-free trial". Does it make sense?
Hmmm...
Your premise was very light on the details

Are you talking about my website? Sorry i'm trying to understand what you mean. But if so, thank you for feedback while i'm asking about that $$ :)
Don't worry about my site, i make it simple on purpose but there are some additional pages i'm still working on. Just haven't launched yet.
If we talk about the competitor, i never looked at my competitor even though i know i have some. I more like take a look and get amazed with other page designs and try to make it on my own way.
I think it's just because i haven't started shoutout my site and service yet. I have connected to several entrepreneurs that good at marketing. While i jumped into their sites, i already got what's their website about and mostly they have a simple site. It's because they have shoutout it well on social media. And i ever had a chitchat with a small business owner while we were talking about her struggle and offered her my help and my service, she landed on my site and said it's clean and simple. I don't know either she doesn't know the site look technically or not, she just got it while i have explained to her. So i think i just need to shoutout mine as soonest and by the time, people will know my service without spending all my time to redesign my site technically. i'm about to get sick of this too :)
However i will take a look those links . Thanks anyway
Buy a domain, theme from Themeforest, logo from Fiverr, cheap hosting from BuyShared.com and you still have some left for proofreading of 2-3 articles you will write for your blog.
And BANG - you just got a web presence 🎉
Is proofreading that cheap? Wht if you get one page ux writing/an article blog + logo design with that $? Is it fair?
There are good proofreaders on Fiverr that will charge something like $5/500-3000 words, so yeah. It's not premium, but it will do the job.
But are you sure they do properly? I haven't tried selling my gig there but most the copywriting or other experts said it's not compatible with their experiences.
Yeah, I have Grammarly premium, so I can make sure.
You can find some that are really good. Simply don't go for the most popular (they are often companies pretending to be a single person). Go for ones having 20-100 reviews. You just need to be prepared to do some research before choosing best one.
But you must consider this. proofreading is not always checking your grammatical error only. But you must know how the writer has a great vocabulary in it. I'm a writer by the way, the first time I learned when I started writing was that I can't get enough with my limited vocabulary lol
Probably not the answer you're looking for, but if I were to spend $85, I would have spent it on myself. Have a nice dinner, book an hour long massage session, hike somewhere, buy a video game, go to sauna, whatever.
If you don't take care of yourself, your business will most probably go down with you and you don't want to be in that position.
You will hardly get anything worthwile worth $85 (maybe except a good icon set or a font). You will most likely waste your time and money. All the best!
well said. most the time i found the headline said what are you going to do if you get $100.000 and entrepreneur start thinking to expand their business but they see $85 worthless in business. Like, you can buy a candy with that.
