Onebyn - A curated stack of top twitter threads

Working on a seamless sharing functionality so anyone can share threads they find interesting

    1. 1

      This is a great idea.

I've just had a look at a thread on your site but have no idea who the two users being discussed are - could you convert @ usernames to links? Also follow/like buttons would be useful - you could use this to entice users to sign in (using their twitter accounts).

      1. 1

Hey Adam, If you could specify the thread, it would be helpful to me to fix it.

I agree those functionalities would surely improve the user experience 😃
We are currently looking into all the actions we can provide here.

Working on Zukoni UI Library , a library of ready made html components built with TailwindCSS https://zukoni.com/

    1. 2

The first thing I saw in a long time that instantly sold me. Can't wait to try it out!

      Other feedback:

      • Some drop shadows are cut off in the highlight reel
      • Changelog is a blank page, a "working on this: ..." would be cool
      • FAQ items only expand when clicking the +
      • Would be nice to see "exc. vat" next to the price tag (in Germany you're required to add that info)
      • After purchase, an explanation (check your mails etc.) would have been nice
      • The sidebar in the account settings look kind of weird. Probably the white inner shadow is a bit too much
      1. 1

Thanks for all the feedback, will try to work on those pretty soon

I wrote some code to discover high quality twitter lists. I now have several hundred high quality lists. I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to present this data in a useful form; how and where. Some are special interest, others are industry, etc. many golden resources.

This is what I made haha MVP so basic but I have no shame in my game.

  10. 2

I'm working on FriendlyCaptcha (https://friendlycaptcha.com), it's a CAPTCHA that users won't hate. The question is whether it is also a viable business at some point ^^

I'm currently working on https://Fonts.do, which is the largest database of premium fonts, with more than 140,000 items

    1. 1

      Feedback at first glance:

      • Why do you need to show me notifications? Maybe wait a little and give a reason first
      • Looks kind of unprofessional and doesn't match the "premium" in the title
      • Logo blurry because it's not svg
      • My brain just filtered out the complete right column in the download page because it triggered my internal adblocker

I created KiBook with my other half a few years ago. Originally it was more-so a creative outlet designed to solve specific problems and not really designed for open signups.

However we often had new customers actively seeking to join so we re-wrote the whole thing from scratch and here we are today 🎉 Primarily we are active on Instagram

building my weekly newsletter about AWS https://awsmag.com

  19. 1

I just bought the domain greenshops.eu.

I am not exactly sure yet what I will do with it.
I was thinking of building a directory of shops (online and retail) that sell products that are eco friendly, produced under fair working conditions, using organic material,...

There are so many small niche shops, especially in fashion, that I would like to offer a platform where they can present themselves and their products. Some examples:
    green-shirts.com, nikinclothing.com, organicbasics.com.

Maybe I will add some more features to the directory, such as news and jobs.

As I bought an .eu domain, I will start with companies in Europe first.

So there is not anything I have to show for now, but would be interested to see what you think about this and if you have any feedback.

    Thanks!

    1. 2

I think that's a good idea if implemented well.

remoteletter.com - Weekly newsletter for remote workers

Trying to make remote work more productive by sharing useful products, relevant podcasts and news. If someone has a some content (blog, podcasts, products) related to travel, remote work and/or productivity, I would love to feature it in my newsletter.

Hey, this sounds interesting. Can I ask you if you use tracking in your newsletter?

      1. 1

I only track open rate not click rate. At the start I tried tracking clicks too but gmail detected it as spam and open rate dropped.

        1. 1

Thanks for your honesty. It's a reason I won't sign up. I also recommend to link the privacy policy on the page next to the subscribe button.

It's a shame, the newsletter looks intersting otherwise!

    1. 1

      Interesting concept. Feedback:

      • I expected to be able to move the columns
      • Design looks kind of outdated. I think that's because of low contrast, no border radii
      • Maybe not strict columns but some sort of grid system would be nice (like how you can arrange editors in Visual Studio)?

We are working on Wicked Templates

The templates are made with Bulma, Tailwind or Bootstrap 5.

They are 1 file templates without custom CSS, only using HTML and the classes from the framework.

So you can use them straight away, build from them, on top of them or anything you want to.

Let me point that they are built using the CDN, so you can start fresh and install your own build package, React, Vue,...

    I am working on https://keycombiner.com
A web application to create and practice collections of keyboard shortcuts. Would love some feedback regarding the landing page or anything else.
If you are a shortcut enthusiast, you might enjoy my lengthy blog post about the whole concept: https://tkainrad.dev/posts/why-i-built-a-new-app-for-practicing-keyboard-shortcuts/

    1. 2

This is really cool! We're actually working on a keyboard shortcuts blog post and I discovered windows + shift + s (Partial screenshot) and it blew my mind. I switch between Mac and Windows and could never find an alternative to cmd + shift + 4.

One cool thing you could offer is some export functionality. Like select your favorite 10 shortcuts and export them as an image. Then, a user has a quick way to reference them.

      1. 1

        Thank you!
Export (CSV, XLS, PDF) is actually implemented already, but only available for Pro accounts, which cannot be purchased yet. Should probably make this publicly available while in Beta.

However, what you can already do is select your favorite 10 shortcuts, import them into one of your own collections, and then create a public URL for this collection of yours.
For example, here is a link to my primary shortcut collection: https://keycombiner.com/collecting/collections/shared/89e47af4-0f2e-4d5d-98fa-6966bc7453cc
This way, everyone with the link can quickly reference them. Can be useful for sharing within an organization. If you just want to reference them yourself, you can of course always see (and practice!) your own personal collections.

        1. 1

Awesome! Have you thought about creating a simple browser extension? A URL is nice, but it's that extra step to get to that information you need quickly. This way you only need to remember one keyboard shortcut to fire the extension off and there is a simple list of your favorite ones?

My use case: Ahhh what is that shortcut to move between tabs? Let me check that extension real quick!

          1. 1

I did some thinking on this and enabling quick lookup of shortcuts is certainly a nice area to explore in the future.

However, the focus, for now, lies on creating collections and learning those so you don't have to look them up ;)
In case you are interested, I have a detailed blog post on the concept and ideas: https://tkainrad.dev/posts/why-i-built-a-new-app-for-practicing-keyboard-shortcuts/

Thanks a lot for your suggestion though!

Doesn't Apple Pay and Google Pay support this both on the web and mobile (physical payments)?

It's a little unclear what you're offering. Is it a debit card? A bank account?

      1. 1

I was referring to fingerprints on a physical debit card rather than software.

        1. 2

Ah! I would suggest stating that and maybe having a graphic of a physical card with a fingerprint reader or something like that. It would make it more clear to a visitor.

The funding is going to be a challenge, that's why I first get validations which will be great to show to funders.
