The title says it all.
Reply in the comments to share what you're building, and what your goals are for the new year.
Also, if you have a product page on Indie Hackers, I recommend making a post on there about how things went in 2024 + what you're focusing on for the new year. I'd like to share some of those in the IH newsletter.
Just started Taksha - helping founders go from idea to revenue, not just code.
AI tools like Lovable/Bolt are great at building, but 54% of IH products still make $0. The gap is research, validation, and marketing.
Day 1: Launched a landing page to validate before building. Following the "validate first" advice I keep seeing here.
This is the year I am leaving the sidelines, where I've watched all the amazing indie hackers out there build incredible things, and jumping into the arena! 👋
I am going to stop just thinking about ideas and actually launch them. Of course, that will mean picking up a few new skills along the way but I am super excited to build and share projects that might bring genuine value to others. 🚀
My top priority is building and shipping things (a couple of ideas that I have jotted down - reviving the art of handwritten letters in the digital era, an AI executive assistant for coordination among friends etc. - but the ideas themselves are immaterial. It is all about building and shipping! 😅). I will also force myself to build in public (this post being the first ever instance of such a commitment) so that I hold myself accountable and this start avoids the graveyard of forgotten new year resolutions 🙈. Here's to a year of learning, creating, and sharing the journey with all the awesome folks here!
Wishing everyone a fantastic and happy 2025! 🎉
Cheers, I am rooting for you.
Thank you so much! 🙌
What are you working on? 🙂
Working on a PHP library called Papier to generate PDF files. I have just released it so 2025 will be focused on developing the product and monetize it.
Wishing everyone a happy new year! 🎉
Building a business very much like DesignJoy (subscription based service) except for business analytics (Excel, Power BI, SQL). Hoping to get my first customer soon.
Wishing everyone else the best of luck in their ventures.
After spending a lot of the year building a newsroom for Indie Hackers, I'm going to devote more time next year to building and shipping small bets. In theory, the newsroom content will act as a kind of marketing foundation that signal boosts all of the other products shipped by the team.
Also, for basically the first time ever I'm planning on being super active on social media.
Jumping off the sidelines myself this year after watching from the background for too long. Just launched my first products last week - AI implementation prompts for technical niches (esports operations, autonomous vehicle fleet management). Built 30+ sectors worth of prompts using N8N automation workflows. Zero sales so far, but that's expected at day 3.
My 2025 goal is simple: figure out if anyone actually wants AI prompts that solve real business problems vs. the generic "productivity" stuff that's everywhere. And more importantly, learn how to reach micro-niches without building a massive personal brand first (introvert with enterprise home-lab addiction here).
The "build in public" commitment resonates - this comment is literally my first public statement about what I'm working on. Forcing myself to engage in communities like this instead of just lurking.
To everyone else building: what's your biggest challenge going into 2025? For me it's clearly discovery/marketing for technical products.
I'm working on MassInvoices, a tool to download all your Stripe invoices (in PDF) in one click. I use it myself and it saves me hours (i had to download each invoice manually).
Built 2 weeks ago, made 2 sales 1 week ago (~$98).
Goal for this year ➡️ make a living with it.
Huge platform risk (if Stripe builds this themselves), but very nice product! Would have also saved me a lot of time in the past
Thank you, you don't use Stripe anymore ?
Im building invoiceFast. A invoicing tool for freelancers and business owners who dont want a monthly bill for invoicing.
I wanted to write about it, but i have to be whitelisted manually or pay to post, sadly.
Hope you have a greay day Allen
Planning to grow an audience by starting a youtube channel related to tech products, so I can launch projects as ideas come and will have an audience to validate whether it's useful or not.
No serious ideas, so some silly ideas https://sillyduck.xyz/ and https://bizarrebookshelf.com/
Looks like AI Agents are the next big thing in AI/LLMs in 2025 so I'm building AiAgents.Directory
happy new year everyone!
to someone starting completely from scratch, How do you make such a website that has links to other websites and just a clean interface? Like, should I learn some coding language? use something like wix? what should be the starting point?
Sorry for the late reply, I just saw your comment. I second what @fabri said or you can definitely use no-code tools such as weblow or Framer...etc. here is a nice framer template https://aperto.framer.website/. This should be your starting point even if you can code. i did that before. i.e started with a webflow site and then moved to custom code (python/Django/tailwind). btw, most of the aiagents.directory code was built by Cursor esp the UI
Thanks, I saw aiagents.directory and it's pretty cool. How do you plan on monetizing a site like that and have you made any money from it yet? Also, are all the sites added by you or are there some that have applied?
Buy a directory template on Theforest. If your directory takes off then think about developing something for it.
what's meant by directory taking off? as in creating a pre-launch kind of site to see if the idea gets traffic and if it does, actually developing it ?
I meant if you start getting a lot of traffic and you validate your idea and confirm it would be a promising business.
Building a Financial planning application using AI and yet the goal is to make it to the first 10k users :)
Hey ahmadswalih777 , can I join you ?
👋 Over the past two years, I built my first web app, Mindful Harmony. It's designed for musicians who want to create more complex chord progressions while learning music theory. Initially, it wasn’t intended to be a significant income stream, and it doesn’t generate that much revenue. However, I’m passionate about continuing its development. This year, I plan to identify a real problem to solve and build a SaaS product that can provide better support for me and my family. 🙂
This year I am going all in:
1. Building Immigration Agent - formalitee ai
2. Building a Discord server listing platform - Discordadmins com
3. Other 3 ideas in the pipeline
In 2025, I plan to devote myself to learning marketing, and I also hope that the products I make can be seen by more people. By the way, in '24 my browser extension GetEles started to have some users, which made me feel like my work was worthwhile!
I will focus on building multiple income streams mainly.
I'm focusing on building Sitebot’s presence in 2025, an AI-powered chatbot solution designed to help businesses create custom chatbots quickly and easily. Our goal is to empower SMBs with advanced AI tools to improve customer service and engagement. I'm excited about getting feedback from the Indie Hacker community as we refine our product and expand our reach!
Looking forward to connecting and hearing about others' journeys as well!
Building a Jarvis-like app for people with ADHD at Saner.AI :)
In 2025, I'm diving into web development and working on creating better websites and apps. One cool tool I’m using is WhatsApp Plus, which has extra features that make chatting more fun and efficient. My goal this year is to improve how people connect online and make communication smoother with tools like WhatsApp Plus. Excited to see where it all takes me.
I am building Ashdeck - an open-source productivity tool that boosts your daily focus by helping you block distractions, track your progress, and achieve your goals
I am building the AI task tool and DTC ecommerce brand, I have completed MVP after I learned to code from 0, and everything I need to know to build an ecommerce business, all from 0, I don't have any time off, working 12 hours a day, I will build my money machine this year
We are working on ClickPress a content management and promotion platform; a tool that can help users publish and schedule your posts to Wordpress, Ghost and Medium. Users can also manage multiple sites in one place, syndicate your content from one site to another, and research directly from Wikipedia in ClickPress.
We launched our waitlist yesterday, your feedback and support would be highly appreciated.
https://waitlist.appclickpress.click/
Even more, you can bring in your editors and writers, assign articles in real-time to them, and also manage guest post submissions with ClickPress and free your email from clutter.
i'll be working on building an online reputation management platform with a tech friend of mine focused on a specific niche in Canada. Hoping that it turns out positive in some fronts. Joined the community recently and loving it so far :)
Working on https://rollout.sh - developer focussed light weight static site hosting platform.
Self hosted External Backup Plans for our Clients in Germany.
Build an open source MIT License ERP and build it in public.
Finally left my corporate job to start up an agentic AI business. This is the year!
Working on AI-First Form Builder SaaS (launch soon) to hopefully leaving my 9-5 job.
Wishing everyone a great journey ahead! Happy new year! 🎉
I will focus on learning how to deploy agents. I will also work on putting together some study guides for those interested in using AI
