What are you working on this month?

With every new month comes a new chance to talk about what you're working on and meet other founders.

Here's how you can join the discussion:

  • First, respond to someone else who's commented, just to say hello or leave them some feedback!
  • Next, leave your own comment describing what you're working on (or aspiring to work on), and your biggest goal for March.

That's it!

I have a full-time job, but due to the pandemic I spun off a few tiny hobby projects

www.toiletpapercalculator.com - calculating toilet paper stocking needs (also a mobile app)
www.lockdownwatch.com - tracking lockdown timelines for the pandemic

And now I'm working with my friends on
www.covidsafety.tips - customizable safety instructions card

    1. 3

Awesome you still had time to work on fun projects, love those calculators. And also hi from Cape Town! 🇿🇦

      1. 2

Cheers! A little less time now since I installed HL: Alyx on the weekend haha!

    2. 2

Haha, love the toilet paper calculator. Who knew that this would ever be needed though...

Hello from Chicago, good to see you using pandemic time nicely, Curious to know tech stack you used to build those cool apps and is it on Github for code review?

      1. 1

        Hey!
They are front-end only so I used React for all of them. I bootstrap every app with create-react-app and deploy to firebase where I manage my hosting, analytics and domains.

I have those repos on github but they are private atm. I am planning to open them at some point, will let you know!

        1. 1

Awesome, I just posted on this forum that I am starting to learn react this month :)

    4. 2

Damn dude, you're on a roll. Keep it up! 😄👏👏 - Pavin.

Well done on being productive during this time!

Wanted to see if you have correct data for the Czech Republic, but was welcomed with:

      "We couldn't detect your country"

without a possibility to select a country manually.

      1. 1

cheers mate. Might be a problem with the external API I am using for geolocation. Also need to check that and also add a dropdown for manual selection

        1. 1

why not just show all of it in some form of table?

I am building a Startup Program Application Portal for Incubator List, which will allow users to apply multiple startup accelerators & incubators at once.

    1. 2

Oh man this is awesome. More resources for early stage companies to find early stage investors I think is a great opportunity!

      1. 1

Thanks a lot, Connor! I'm glad you liked it!

Just finished a little side project called Silent Down which is a website monitoring platform https://silentdown.com

So this month is all about submissions, setting up various analytics, advertising accounts and so fourth. Im excited to see where it goes, thou always preparing for the worst, while hoping for the best :)

    1. 2

Looks cool! What is the difference between silentdown and your competitors? I know there are plenty.
(Just curious, I'm also building a platform that has multiple competitors)

      1. 2

        Hi Tobias

I actually built Silent Down due to a need in my web development company. We needed some more configuration options behind the scenes.
During this i decided to make it available for the public aswell.

So we do not have an unique difference, yet :) But perhaps i will find a small niche in the market once i get some more "hands on" with this project. Right now, it is just a great show case of our work to possibly clients who needs web development, and it gives us a direct marketing channel to possibly clients using our platform.

I'm working on a platform to play poker online face-to-face while social distancing. https://pokerona.sharath.app

    1. 1

This is amazing! Just last week I was playing online poker on an app with a friend and had facetime running in the background.

      1. 1

Glad to hear. Please pass on any feedback after you’ve had the chance to try it for a while.

    2. 1

Tried it with a few friends, and it is solid! Thanks for building it! I would be glad to help you improve it.

        1. 1

Awesome! I've been meaning to find ways to play poker with friends without having to download and install apps

I been on the same boat, trying to launch blog site since last couple months, but occupied with full-time job and side freelancing projects, this will inspire me to finish what I have stated, I am using Github pages with Jekyll to launch my blog site, which blogging platform are you using?

      1. 1

        Awesome to hear!
I'm using 11ty on netlify auto-publish through github.

        Simple yet effective.

Great, I have sandbox URL: https://pushpk.github.io/blog/

I will be spending most my time on marketing this month.

A lot of people will be starting new businesses and side hustles and I want to help them succeed, so i need to find a way to get in front of them.

One way is affiliates, we're trying to get that set up ASAP. So if you have an audience of early stage companies let me know :)

    1. 1

Same here, product is fully updated and overhauled. Now onto marketing, I don't know much about it but let me know if you're interested and we can start a thread on pooling marketing tips.

    Hey Hey Fam!

I have a full-time job [Remote] and I have built an MVP of http://remotemonk.com

It's growing fast and I am busy building traction for this while fixing the broken parts with user feedback.

Excited for the month ahead :)

  8. 2

    I added Funnels to splitbee.io
Users can now see where users get lost during a defined process.
I'm quite happy how it turned out 🎉

    1. 1

Interesting product, and I like your website. How is it going to attract users?

  9. 1

I've just launched the first, small version of a larger idea I'd like to explore. Its a free app (ios only for now) to explore ways that art can exist in our home through augmented reality. I'll be exploring this further. I do need to work out a good business plan for it, any thoughts are welcome. https://www.indiehackers.com/product/bosch-ar

    Hey everyone 👋.

I am building a web scraping software which is under development and is coming soon this month. It allows users to easily scrape data within seconds and let them choose which element to select by point and click interaction.

For advance use, It allows automatic pagination for further web crawling with scrolling, So that they don't need to enter the URL again and again. And also supports image scraping and custom input fields.

Currently working on the UI and landing page design. Will launch on Product Hunt. Just need some beta testers. And i don't know where to find them...

    1. 1

@Abhay very interested in beta testing your product please email me [email protected]

      1. 1

Just emailed you Kenny. However your website has very clean design. I just checked that...

  13. 1

I'm continuing work on Noora (https://noorahq.com). Today we shipped CSV importing, and now I think I'll start building out integrations to Intercom and some other support apps to make it even easier to collect feedback from users.

I guess I'm also working all the time on getting new users. It isn't easy at the beginning, so if anyone here wants to try the product for free for an extended period, just get in touch :)

  14. 1

At Remote Leaf, I've been working on a few initiatives and hoping to release this during this month.

  15. 1

I started work marketing a new live-streaming fitness app and we're now looking for beta testers. Kind of strange to see doom and gloom elsewhere but we are pushing ahead. Regardless we have had some early feedback and people are excited! Here's to keeping on keeping on.

  16. 1

Have just finished working on a Coronavirus map: https://thetravelpad.com/coronavirus/world-map

I'm looking to see if I can help out or work on other COVID-19 related projects, if not I'll probably focus on marketing and outreach.

  17. 1

Idea validation for a few indie side projects.

  18. 1

This month I'll continue working on my side project https://stackprint.io. I've spent most of last week playing around with setting up a nice CI/CD pipeline on GitLab to make future development a bit easier, but this month I'll have to get back to business reality ;)

I'd like to learn more about marketing to get more users on the platform and write some of the blog posts I've had in my head for months now :)

    1. 2

That's kinda cool. Right now I'm using Firebase for database but it happens to be frustrating sometimes

  19. 1

I want to send further chapters of Deployment from Scratch for reviews and write one or two articles on my blog (which is source to almost all my new subscribers).

  20. 1

    I'm working on Rockup (https://rockupapp.com)
Rockup helps put your app video recordings in a device frame (stencil), add background music from a wide selection available in the app, write voiceover script and record voiceovers, all from right inside the app! No internet required.

P.S.I'm looking for beta users. Please sign up if you find it interesting!

  21. 1

I have a regular job as well, but this month working from home due to the pandemic which will give me more time to work on front-end techs.

Goal is to finish leaning Angular, built a couple of apps while learning, continue to make changes to that.

Also starting to learn React and Blazor this month, planning to give brown-bag sessions at work on Blazor in upcoming months.
