I'm preparing Pinger for HN and PH launch.

    What is left is:

    • Polish status pages and enable custom user domains for them
    • Fix few small bugs & stress test the system a bit
    • Do some small things for landing page, check it out once again how it works on mobile

Guys I swear I'll launch this month 👿☝️

    1. 3

wow, Victor exciting. I love your dashboard UI design, super clean. What a great platform. I didn't even know your website could only be down in certain regions. I'll be a future customer once my site is live 👍✌️👊

      1. 2

Thank you for your kind words!

What I can see depending on my stats is that depending on the region you have different uptime. The worst uptime is in India, where the Internet connection is slow.

But I have many things to analyse yet :)

If you want to suggest any features, you're welcome

    2. 3

      Looks very good. Well done.

    3. 3

      You can do it! 👍

    4. 2

What approach are you going with for launching on HN and PH?

      1. 1

For HN I don't have any specific plan except asking friends for early upvotes. I haven't yet researched HN.

Regarding PH, well, there are many things. Starting from polishing gallery & comment text, ending with promoting it everywhere. I have big list of contacts who can help me with it :)

        1. 1

Awesome - best of luck! Send it my way and you'll get my upvote

          1. 1

            Followed you on Twitter :)

    5. 1

Pinger looks great. Just do it.
      Launch soon. Launch often.

      1. 1

        Thank you. I will!

    6. 1

Hey! your landing page looks great. I've just followed you to not miss the launch. I will certainly try the product once I have some site online to test it.
      Keep it up !

    7. 1

Looks really nice - I really like the latency timings on the dashboard.

    8. 1

Nice work, that's lots of features for a product that you build alone! You are entering a highly competitive market, how would you position your product? What's your marketing plan? Good luck!

    9. 1

Hey! I like that you have lots of screenshots on the landing page which easily conveys how the UI/UX is gonna look like. How long have you been working on this project? What's your USP given that so many uptime monitoring solution already exists? Or you are trying to bank on getting discovered first and acquire customers that way?

      1. 1

        Hi! Thanks for your reply!

I've spent more than 9 months already =\

Regarding USP, I was focusing on contemporary looking UI & notifications & status pages & customization. I plan to have customized notifications, Telegram bot with many commands (right now it just notifies you), Slack bot.

But Honestly I couldn't think of something very unique. Except maybe users asked me to provide CSV reports of uptime, haven't seen this feature before.

If you have any suggestions, just tell me, I'm collection feedback, and if I see that many users ask the same feature I'll implement it 100%.

        1. 1

Gotcha! 9 months is a long time. Must be strictly a side hustle. I would say launch it & see how people react towards it. I think these things are not unique enough yet I have seen them reach $3-4K MRR, so 🤷‍♂️

          1. 1

That's what motivated me, that's why I'm working on this :)

            1. 1

Cool! I actually built my own uptime monitoring based on checks from different geographical regions but didn't launch it under any product.

              1. 2

You build your own uptime monitor and didn't even launch it. Must be an awesome hacker/engineer 👨‍💻

                1. 1

I kinda wanted to bundle that up in a side project that I didn't end up launching, cuz it unfolded into a huge scope with every functionality, so it didn't see the light of day. BTW, I do live stream of my latest project that I work full-time on. Links are on ashfame.com

    10. 1

Looks very polished! The value prop is immediately clear. Best of luck :D

And then after you launch, per your comment on my other post, get drunk ;))

      1. 1

Yeah, moreover doesn't matter if it's a successful launch or not :D

    11. 1

Nice work! It's understandable and fast, love it.

On my Firefox, it looks like the content is drawn two times. It's a bit weird, but it's a detail.

      1. 1

It's kind of flashing, right?? I hate this, trying to figure out what's happening :)

I'm working on the Indie Hackers community! 😊

Also, I'm continuing and consistently working on my community building newsletter. ☁️

    1. 4

Indie Hackers community is awesome! :)

    2. 3

Your work for IH Community is truly inspiring. 👍

      1. 2

        Thank you, appreciate it! 🥰

Thank you for all your work in the community!

      1. 1

        Very happy to be here!

    4. 1

      Amazing work by the way!

    5. 1

      What's on the IH roadmap?

      1. 1

Currently upcoming, but all is subject to change because life and the world 🤷🏽‍♀️

        • some forum automation to ease my moderation workload
        • group discovery improvements
        • DMs
        • content improvements
        1. 1

Exciting time ahead! Love the roadmap

        2. 1

Those look good - looking forward to it (subject to change).

  3. 3

💥 @rosiesherry I really like these posts - So many interesting products pops up in these threads!

I've been working on a little side project of mine that is trying to solve a problem I constantly run into. I don't know how often, but often enough, I have to bother a colleague on Slack just to find a link to that thing I need right now.

We just deployed the landing page an hour ago https://thecrabhole.com

Any feedback is much appreciated 🙏

    1. 1

🦀 Great clean design aesthetic Fredrik! 🦀

      My 2c feedback:
I didn't get what the service does, and I frantically scrolled up and down until my eye caught the tiny text "Put all your links in one place". In my opinion, that should be the big text at the top. Maybe even "Put all your private links in one place".

Also, you should just charge money, rather than "free" + "contact us". That signals to me that you're in beta / not ready for production, and would discourage me from signing up for the free trial, if I knew that I'd need the paid version.

      1. 1

Thanks for the feedback @andrewclapham ! We just made a an update to our landing page and in the process changed the name to Linkhub (https://thelinkhub.io) Feel free to check it out!

        1. 1

Nice man, this name is much better IMO

    2. 1

I scheduled a tweet for this, it's not out quite yet, normally I tag people in, but couldn't find a Twitter handle for you.

      1. 1

Hey @rosiesherry - just to give you a heads up for your scheduled tweet. We are renaming the service to Linkhub which can be reached at https://thelinkhub.io

        1. 1

Ah, just noticed that the tweet already went out - it would mean a lot to me if you could change the link and the name in the tweet 🙏

  4. 3

P.S. We need a training set, please reach out if you have a SaaS that can integrate Tractific to help our development.

  5. 3

This month, I'm working on getting started!

I have a few small initial ideas. I will use validation techniques to narrow down to one promising idea. My goal is to make a small niche product that I can build and grow to $500/mo profit within 6 months.

As I do every month, I will also work on a post for my blog, bitlog.com.

  6. 3

    I'm working on careermove.io

Trying to figure out how I can monetize it besides promotion, courses, and programs.

    1. 2

I like the concept. It's always a tough decision to switch career.

            1. 1

Thanks. I am trying not to focus on helping people get jobs or change jobs

Career Move is basically a platform that helps people network, share career experiences and make money on their own term

    2. 1

Yes, I hope you can figure out how to make money on your platform. Like the idea and thanks for sharing my stories! How are your main users profiles?

  7. 2

We launched our first project Indify on PH, a platform of customizable widgets created for Notion. Ended up being #3 product of the day :) Super excited to see where it will go!

    1. 1

Oh nice, be sure to share in our IH Notion group!

      1. 1

Ohh! I didn't know that haha. Thank you!

  8. 2
    • Will continue to develop and publish pre-launch content to promote nocodeautomation.io
    • Working on a project to integrate "no code" with some DevOps tooling for a no-code mashup.
    • Continuing to do freelance technical blogging(have several articles in the pipeline).
    1. 2

This is interesting @mvanbus - would love to exchange opinion among No code - On twitter? My link in profile :)

      1. 1

Thanks Felix! Followed you on Twitter.

  9. 2

I work on melbado. It's similar to Product Hunt, but with a future focus of bringing corporations and startups in together. Basically mix of Product Hunt and Plug & Play.

    1. 2

Nice work, It's pretty simple to use, but, I have faced an issue while signing up, I didn't receive a verification email, and there is no button to resend the email

      1. 1

Thank you for checking melbado out and giving feedback here. I've just manually verified your email. And I've just deployed a new version. Now you should be able to resend the verification email. But as I can see there are some issues that emails might be marked as spam. I'm trying to resolve them.

        1. 2

Awesome, I have just added my startup.

By the way, a small feedback, the "publish" button is very hard to notice that this is a toggle button, a clear button with the text "publish" might be better.

    2. 1

Hey! What's your thought process behind this? How will you attract the initial traffic?

      1. 1

Well, I think getting early sales is hard. And I think we have great technology to make it more efficient and fun. Especially B2B. At the same time, corporations are forced to innovate more and in faster cycles. As I'm building essentially a 2-sided marketplace, I think that manual outreach is the way to go to build the initial momentum.

        1. 1

Good luck! IMO, connecting 2 kind of people is harder than just selling something.

          1. 1

Very true. It's like building 2 product simultaneously. 😁

  10. 2

I am working on several ideas to pivot away from Rumin as a SaaS tool.

    1. 1

I like the landing page. I know there's a video and an illustration but i'd love to see a screenshot of what's possible on the front page. That's usually what tips me over the line on signing up to a service.

      1. 1

        thanks for the feedback! :)

  11. 2

I am continuing to build out Startup Sanctuary. Lots of updated course material and updates in the works!

  12. 2

    I'm continuing building UpFast

In a recent IH Tweet I got a ton of responses and recommendations for improvements. I'm now implementing all of that feedback in the hopes of making the landing page better. This includes:

    • improving the WHY
    • adding pricing
    • highlighting some features differently

I'll also make sure to get more people into the beta, to work out some of the internal hiccups.

My big goal for August is to get enough confidence for a soon launch!

    1. 2

That's cool! how do you run the lighthouse audits? Headless chrome? How do you take those screenshots - are you doing the heavy lifting here or chrome does a lot of this for you?

      1. 1

Thanks! I use the Lighthouse CLI on the server using headless chrome. The screenshots are created during the lighthouse audit, just as it is done in the DevTools, so yes Chrome does a lot!

    2. 2

I like this idea @scholz. Nice website too. What did you build it with? Also, does Google Lighthouse score impact SEO ranking?

      1. 2

        Thank you very much!

It's built on Laravel, Tailwind, Livewire & Alpinejs. It uses a bunch of servers running these lighthouse audits for different regions.

So in terms of SEO ranking. The score itself does not directly influence search ranking. But, web performance itself does. Especially the new metrics called Web Vitals are announced to have direct impacts on search performance.

The idea behind them is that they not only measure the speed of a website, but rather how it impacts users. It doesn't really matter to a user how long it takes until every last bit of a page is loaded, if they can already use and interact with it. But moving boxes (think of ads that seem to load exactly when you try to click something) are extremely frustrating, and therefore a bad sign. This is for example included in the Core Web Vitals, as "Cumulative Layout Shift".

Still, a high lighthouse performance score will (most likely) correlate with fast websites, because it shows that performance best practices are met.

        • reduced image & file size
        • fast initial loading
        • no layout shifts
        • no unused scripts etc.
        1. 2

This is great info. Thanks for clarifying @scholz. Much appreciated.

    3. 1

I really like your landing page. It's fast (76% on google pagespeed) and easily understandable. It looks very good, too! Good job!

      1. 1

        Thank you Matthieu!

The current landing page is hosted on Netlify, and to be fair - I didn't optimize it at all. I just wanted to have an inital landing page online, while I work on the actual app (which is PHP based). For these things Netlify is simply amazing!

    4. 1

      Thats an awesome landing page.

  13. 1

Hi, I am new to Indie Hackers Community. I really liked here so much.
I can say what I am going to work on:

    • learn microservice architecture.
    • develop an android application to follow currency rates.
    • revise my Github repositories & increase documentation.
  14. 1

    Working on PeerPull

The MVP is functional and we are checking whether there is a need for this in the market. Also will explore whether "speed networking" makes sense for some peers.

  15. 1

My primary goal is to drive search traffic to ProsperCircle.org a remote job board that features remote jobs only from leading organizations and fast-growing startups.

My secondary goal is to start cultivating organizations to sponsor more job posts on ProsperCircle.org

Working on Deck for Reddit - a desktop optimized Reddit client that respect your screen real-estate.
Launched last week on HN and received enormous amount of feedbacks. Catching up on some of them, and working on new features that I had in mind.

  18. 1

I'm writing my lessons learned as a founder in my newsletter and on Twitter.

Coming with a product this month/next one. Before launching it, I'm building my audience on Twitter, slowly but surely

  19. 1

I'm working on adding live chat (integrated with Slack) to Letterbase 🙌

  20. 1

Working on https://nerdmentors.com/ , a platform that connects experts in their fields with those who want to learn from them.

Our goal by the end of August to have gotten 20-30 mentors and 1-5 students. (we have got out first 3 mentors in the past 2 hours)

    1. 2

@indiepanda and @gdi3d are both looking for mentors. Each one in their own platform....would worth have a word

      1. 1

        Great to hear, thanks @Leo.
Hey guys @indiepanda @gdi3d , hope you are doing well! Would love to chat with you guys whenever it suits you. Would you please share your emails or any other channel you prefer of which we could chat through? I hope I would be able to help

        1. 1

Hey, I'm not working on a mentoring platform. GetAdvice is about getting advice and not an on-going relationship with a specific person to help you grow in a field.

I have to launch TubersLab by end of this Month. It should have been last month, but I missed it. Feeling very down because of this.

    1. Landing page requires more images
    2. Need to prepare a good demo video.
    3. Need to ad one-note integration.
    4. When user time-stamps, I need to automatically show some text from subtitles.
    5. Get copy ready for FB and Google Ad.
    6. Need to finalize which features I am going to add to Elite membership.
  23. 1
    • My social media keyword/topic monitoring and notification service, watchtower.social. I'm actually using this every day for my other sites and it's working exactly as I want it! Adding more notification options and social media services is my priority.
    • Just launched a topic news aggregator, newslist.io. More for myself than anything else, but working on adding more sources, topics and depth.
  24. 1

I hope I can accomplish two things:

    • Build a TikTok clone
    • Make progress on my SwiftUI-based stock visualization app (hopefully 70% complete)
    • Release another version of my external memory app Zenjournal

As I said, two of these are actual goals😉, but I'd be happy if I can accomplish just one.

    1. 1

Nice job with the app. looks nice.

  25. 1
    1. A revenue calculator for indie hackers (e.g. how many products do you need to sell to make X dollars, but a little more sophisticated)
    2. My taxes
    3. I want to write at least 10 articles total for multiple projects

Launching the new version of Prospectss.com with Search Email by Domain feature & New Pricing - Unlimited access for $49/per month. How does that sound?

Landing page for Artworkss.com to explain in detail on how the users can generate attractive designs automagically for their social media, banner & FB ads, blog images, etc.

    1. 1

      Hi Amin,

Sorry I'm such a marketing newbie I don't even know how a "Find & Verify Emails" service works. The output I guess is email addresses for leads. What is the input?

      1. 1

You input an email and it verifies whether the email exists, valid, deliverable, has full inbox, catch-all or not.

You input first name, last name and domain and it tries to guess the email of the person.

For the new Search Email by Domain feature, you input the domain and finds all the email address for that domain.

      2. 1

        Are you a marketing newbie?

That explains why I see you spamming with Uclusion....

        They will find you.....

        1. 1

Seems you are enforcing some rule I am unaware of.

What comment of mine is not attempting to help someone?

Are there rules against any form of self-promotion on IH because that would be idiotic. We all need to support each other here and allow self-promotion or else every Indie Hacker must try to get into Y Combinator to enjoy any kind of a network affect. I strongly object to the limited utility entrepreneurial unfriendly vision you have for IH.

          1. 1

Avoid spamming is not my idea, believe that.
I am not forcing it, I am suggesting it.

            conversations are becoming unreadable...

          2. 1

            Enforcing?
            I had an opinion.
            And opinions ain't facts.

            You do you Disrael.

            1. 1

Opinion means you say whatever you want whenever? That's fine for Reddit but IH are trying to help each other.

              1. 1

Have you heard of freedom of speech?

                I am practicing that.

Me prompting to say that you are spamming is because 95% of the questions I have been reading I saw you linking to your link from the answer.

Where there was no need of mentioning your side project.

I know, i get it, you want to promote your site and that's completely fine, but if 90% of your answers contain your link that's an interested answer and there you are helping yourself instead...

You have done it to me twice even...

                1. 1

You are coming from other boards where somehow its a zero sum game and my putting my URL in a comment is detouring the conversation away from what is being discussed.

But what is being discussed on IH is always how to promote each other! Everyone one of my comments is intended to help other IHers. I am asking you about email templates because I want to do my business with fellow IHers and not be forced to buy from non Indie. I put my URL in because why should anyone be forced to go 3 clicks deep to get to it? As far as I'm concerned our URLs should be part of our comment description like our name and timestamp.

Yes I want the best for Uclusion but I also want the best for all the other projects here - if you read my comments you will see that. Your idea of IH where we all stay in our lanes and die is not helping. That's not how the Y Combinators do it - they form gangs of graduates to keep a lock on the market. We have to support each other and it starts with not calling "Spam" every time someone tries to respond to someone with a URL in their comment.

                  1. 1

                    Me coming from other boards?

Been here pretty long and I haven't seen such a behaviour.

In this community respect and consideration goes beyond the standards.

I am not saying is about the templates.
I made a post looking for makers to interview.

You said your project wants to be in it. I told you is about the makers, you insisted. I ignored it...

We don't all care about YC... there's Indie Hacker founding themselves.

Getting money from YC is not indie hacking if you look closer...

                    1. 1

You have a whole post about your idea for not allowing links in comments https://www.indiehackers.com/post/can-we-talk-without-you-dropping-your-link-when-not-necessary-64c80b2335 and now you are enforcing it. I don't think this has anything to do with me specifically.

  28. 1

Working on the second in-depth article for https://mindfold.co/ about building emotional intelligence.

Also, prepping for my first podcast episode with a guest.

Good luck to everyone on their grind!

I'm starting the OSSU on Monday. The Open Source Society University is a complete education in computer science using online materials. I plan to complete all courses in under two years and use the skills I obtain to build my own tech start up.

  30. 1

We are working on Wicked Templates.

We are working on the Back-End and the Front-End.

    Front end

    • Polish the UI.
    • Have a clearer UX.
    • Writing a better copy. Which I would love to get some directions on how to actually achieve a better copy.

      Hi Michael,

Have you considered email templates? Uclusion could benefit from snazzier verify address, welcome and invitation emails.

I'm creating content for zubbit.io. We've revamped the feature set, look and feel of website and back-end app and now need to create lots more new content for it.

Launching the 4th run of our anti-procrastination program!

I'm designing the program and updating/executing the marketing in next 2 weeks.

    1. 2

I like the style of your website! Nice

I am working on building an open-source (DIY) air-gapped crypto vault to keep your cryptocurrency with the same security as that of nuclear reactors.

    https://woodpckr.com

Hoping to build this before 15th August, which will mark 2 months of development cycle. What started as a quest lead me to building my own custom linux OS that will run on Raspberry Pi & will interact with wallet without a physical connection hence offering the world to use a trustless crypto vault, something that they can themselves put together without having to trust any party (not even me) in the process.

    1. 1

      I like your claim!

      1. 2

I didn't go as far as to claim its better than nuclear reactors, but it actually is :)

Simply because of the fact that powered-down air-gapped devices are secure than always-up air-gapped devices ✌

Polishing a developer tool that makes it quick to search and re-use command-line commands (cli, linux, docker and etc)

    http://we-reuse.nl
Need to add some functionality, so people could create their own collections of useful commands and be able to share with peers

Hey IH! I'll continue progressing on the alpha of https://midnight.pub, with the hope of making it beta.

Cool service and i'm looking forward for it to grow.

    2. 1

      Like the design.

I would appreciate a short intro on the home page.
"Welcome to networked writing" or something of the sort.

Personally, I'd also reduce what's visible on the homepage. Less noise. I couldn't locate the Learn more button for about 10 seconds.

Does everyone contribute to the same story? What are other stories are there?
A short tutorial would be nice too - to get me to write a simple demo contribution and get hooked.

Anyway, that's my unsolicited feedback for you.

      1. 2

Thanks for the super valuable feedback! Definitely need to work more on the home page. I'm trying to find the right balance between intriguing and actionable. Cheers.

I like the idea and enjoy the aesthetics :) keep it up!

I'm working on finding and testing the best marketing channels for my email newsletter, Comedy Delivered.

I've used paid channels to quickly validate the idea, now I'm looking to find more organic growth channels.

    🌞 Same a July 🌞

📙 Working on my book, Building Your Mouseless Development Environment.

My goal for August: still enjoying writing it! Also:

    • All outlines for all chapters written.
    • A first draft for my first chapter.
    • Sorting out most of the formatting to get that out of the way.

    Work & see. 🔮

    1. 1

Interesting! A topic i've always wanted to see covered

      1. 1

Nice. What would you like to see in it?

        1. 2

I guess for me it's always the "you don't know what you don't know" problem. You see devs with crazy no-mouse development styles and you're like, "where do I even start?". Starting with high impact changes would probably be best

          1. 1

I see what you mean. High impact change from the start is difficult, but it's a good point.

            Thanks a lot!

    2. 1

That's a great topic for developers!

Rolling out serial-codes for SceneLab so we can give some away to people. We're hoping to gain some exposure and feedback this way. Currently, we're really focusing on talking to people and have somewhat of a feature stop. Only thing we'll develop this month is an update for our texts feature. Then trying to launch on AppSumo, HN and PH, wish us luck!

    1. 2

      This looks great, very polished!

      1. 1

Thanks, glad you like it :)

    2. 2

Good luck nilo! I think your landing page leads off strong - I got the point of it fairly quickly

One quick comment - the progressive PNGs on the landing page stayed blurry for a while (like 20+ seconds). I cracked open developer tools, and many of them are over 2 megabytes each. If you ran all of them through pngcrunch or a similar program, it should dramatically improve the user experience.

      1. 1

        Thanks for the feedback, Jacob!

Yes, I know about the images, will look into. I'm actually using GatsbyJS and thought it would handle it properly, meanwhile lowering the quality through that makes it look bad - I'll figure something out ...

    Will keep on advancing https://www.weblister.co
and hoping to complete and launch my other how to project.

    1. 1

      Nice!

Quick feedback: I think your title is a bit too big. It feels a bit... aggressive to me.

      1. 1

Thanks for the feedback. Am actually about to redo the landing page.

        1. 1

Good luck with the redesign! Weblister sounds like an ambitious project haha

          1. 1

Want keep it simple. Just something where you can list your website.
