April went by a lot faster than March, for me at least!
With every new month comes a new chance to talk about what you're working on and meet other founders.
Here's how you can join the discussion:
That's it!
Excited to hear from everyone and see what you're working on!
My friend and I are working on a single-page website builder. Months ago, we've started this as a side-project and finally, two weeks ago we have launched the homepage.
From the past couple of days, we've been so busy preparing the builder and our biggest goal for May is to launch it!
It's called Dorik ( https://dorik.io ), Please check out and leave your feedback :)
hey, i'm working on simplefunnel.io
i think it'll be a fantastic integration with dorik for people who want to collect payments on your site.
what do you think?
Wow... simplefunnel.io looks really fascinating! I want to try it out... but now I need to come up with something new to try it out on. lol
You know you've got something special when people are like "this is so cool, I need to create a reason to use it."
Haha, thanks a lot!
that has to be the best compliment i've gotten so far.
haha, I remember running into your product the other day here on IH, but I couldn't remember what it was called so I was desperately looking for it yesterday. And boom, here it is, lol! Question, do you guys handle subscription based funnels or just one-time payments?
Haha, i'm marketing poorly then.
for now its just one time payments, next we're working on multiple funnels, then uploading files and then recurring payments :)
I'll be putting up a public roadmap soon. Feel free to follow me somewhere, IH, twitter wherever.
Awesome, will do!
Thank you so much for your interest, Naman. We are currently building the form component. Once it's done we will start adding integrations. We will get in touch with you.
sounds great :)
Hey looks a great UX and clean message . Let me try integrate Wiht my b2b trade app morr.biz
Sounds great Morr!
This looks pretty cool! Does it support recurring payments too?
alot of people have been asking for this, unfortunately for now its just one time payments, next we're working on multiple funnels, then uploading files and then recurring payments :)
I'll be putting up a public roadmap soon. feel free to follow the project somewhere.
Looks awesome! Signed up for early access. Love the UX animations on the website. ππΌ
Thanks for subscribing, we'll roll out the early access soon β€οΈ
Sounds good! Wix is awfully slow. Would love to transition over to your service ππΌ
This is probably the most motivating comment I've got today. <3 Thanks Tony!
Hey Tony, I have sent you an email with the early access details. If you face any issues, please let me know. :-)
Great landing page! That converted me to get on your mailing list. Well done.
Thanks a lot for subscribing! we will roll out early access soon :-)
Hey Blake, I have sent you an email with the early access details. π
This looks fantastic. Great work so far!
Thanks a million Steven, I'm flattered! π
Ah, This seems like an interesting product. Looking forward to its launch :)
Thanks vaibhav, we're also excited to launch it asap! π
Really great design. And I'm super picky.
How do you plan to differentiate from all the others? I get pitched these all the time and so many of them feel like they just wanted to build their own with no real differentiating factor--what I call a greed vs. need build.
I think the easiest way to differentiate is to put your "why we built this" right into the homepage narrative.
Hey Dustin,
Thanks for your comment.
Here is the short story of why we built Dorik.
We already have some existing users for our premium and free templates. So we wanted to build something to make it easier for them to customize the templates. We started building with this goal in our mind. But we didn't keep it just limited to customization and editing. Now users can design from scratch as well. Our main feature will be our templates and blocks with the easy-to-use builder where users can customize/edit everything. Also, anyone can build a website from scratch using the builder.
We have tried to give all the basic CSS features and some advanced CSS features in the builder. Our main goal is to make it powerful yet easy to learn and use.
Thanks,
Mizan
So based on what you've said here, what I'm hearing is:
We had customers using our templates. There was no way for them to easily edit out templates using any of the other page builders out there, so we built our own.
In other words... your product needed to exist because of your other products' success?
Was this something your customers were asking for?
That's correct. We used a third-party builder before. which increased our sales a lot. But that builder is dead, and it did hurt us a lot. Also, it was limited and the experience was poor. So we decided to start trying to building something on our own.
So in other words...
"Our customers loved our website templates. But they couldn't find an easy and reliable way to edit them. We didn't trust anyone else to build what our customers needed, so we built it for them."
I'd love to see something like that on the landing page. Or at minimum, on the About page. It gives you instant credibility with those who are not already customers, and immediately shows you're not just throwing your hat into an overly saturated game for the heck of it.
That's a great idea. We tried to present it as a new product. But I agree with you here. We will work on it.
Thanks a lot. π
I think you have a wonderful project right there. Keep it up
Thanks for your cheerful comment :-)
Looks good! Clean and simple.
Thank you Andre π€
Very cool. Seems super user friendly. Definitely a need for something like this.
Your comment motivated me to work even harder!
How is it different from other single page builders like carrd?
Hello Benny,
Thanks for showing interest to know what makes us different from existing similar products.
Carrd is already a successful product having thousands of users and it has been there for years! It evolved a lot over the years. We admire Carrd β€οΈ
But in Dorik, we are trying to give advanced control over the components. User will get almost all CSS features available visually. And we will keep it simple and easy to use. Also, we are gonna provide large library of beautifully designed templates and components (we already have 100+ components).
If you're interested to know more about Dorik, please read the comment made by my co-founder friend in this very thread. That comment has detailed explanation why we are building such a product.
Kind regards,
Anwar
Your website has a great design!
We're flattered that you guys are liking it!
Landing looks nice, especially the video is impressive :)
My designer friend is amazing at his work! Thanks for the compliment :)
Still working on Stock Alarm. Specifically, I'm gonna be working on:
Another day, another set of issues to handle π
what is your business model?
We are on a freemium business model. We do not want intrusive ads on our platform especially because our users are day traders/investors who wouldn't mind a subscription.
We also support 24/7 crypto alerts with the latest info + calls/texts/push at all times. Our data sources are high quality and quite expensive hence the freemium tiered model.
We offer 4 tiers:
Free tier - 1 alarm, 3 conditions, calls and push notifications
Bronze tier - 5 alarms, unlimited conditions, calls and push
Silver tier - 10 alarms, unlimited conditions, calls, push, text
Gold tier - unlimited alarms, unlimited conditions, international calls, push, text, sentiment based alerts
I will update the website soon with all the pricing tier info.
That's pretty cool! Super timely considering recent volatility lol.
π Totally agree with you on that point, we've seen a surge of users recently due to Covid-19 related volatility and all of them have been sending us a flurry of feature requests. I use the app myself on a daily basis as I'm a hobby options trader π
I might take a look at it. I'm a wannabe day trader but don't have the time to constantly look for stocks to watch so I could definitely use this.
I'm working on animations on my landing, and have just checked out yours, and voila! Got some ideas :D
Awesome stuff, glad to be of some help π
Nice little project. I am not investing yet, maybe I should? :)
Thanks a ton!
We'd be happy to help you with your investing journey!
Any idea where to start? I am based in the Czech Republic (EU). I have Revolut now which has some stocks, but very limited list.
It sounds like a great project. I actually worked on something similar a few years ago for a client. We calculated if a stock was over or under traded along with the Twitter sentiment. Let me know if you want more details on how to do this.
We're currently doing stock twits sentiment analysis as well as a few news outlets, would love to hear how reliable you found the data and if you have a link to the project.
We're just providing the tools needed for traders to make their own decisions, we've got 30+ indicators available in an easy to use UI. Might eventually transition into signals but we want to test a lot more first π
Wow... this month... a lot.
So we're getting ready to implement a full marketing funnel for SoVisual.co. My personal blog email list (30k+ subs) is going to get a 10-part email sequence about it. We'll also be starting a full email sequence for those who purchase our free sample pack. And to compliment both of those, an ad retargeting campaign. So lots going on with just that one project alone.
A second project that has been 4 years in the making is finally ready for beta testers. We managed to finish the MVP of Content Magnets and get the free version into the WordPress repo. Now time to email all the people who were interested and get them beta testing. Will probably do a betalist launch this month.
But wait, there's more!
I need to get some product validation for a 3rd project that has also been years in the making... There is just a small amount of development that needs to happen to complete an MVP, but I'm uncertain of how much people would pay for it. If people are willing to pay on a monthly basis for it, then I'll proceed with the development. If not... I may just kill it off entirely.
So. many. projects! First of all, Kudos to you for managing and having the motivation to continue all of them. SoVisual looks like a great product for marketers. How many people are into Content magnets? 4 years is huge time and it seems you really have some good expectations from it. How are you managing all of these?
Thanks @vaibhavThevedi!
I've been managing multiple businesses for 6 years now. It took me being super obsessive with time/energy management.
I plan my days/projects/tasks with a combination of Todoist and Google Calendar. I also use a Pomodoro + time tracker to make sure I'm not staring at a screen for too long, and focus intently on one thing at a time.
It's hard. But I've learned to manage it for the most part. Some days/seasons are super stressful, but at the end of the day I remind myself: I don't answer to a boss. Nobody can fire me if things aren't perfect or "on time."
Also gotta give yourself grace on a daily basis. We're only human, after all.
I can understand how hard and stressful it get sometimes. My best wishes for your projects and I like your quote which is also the one of the reason why I chose to be an indie maker.
At https://seodity.com we are working on integration into Shopify. The plug-in itself has already developed, but it's taken a lot of time to prepare marketing. We should have everything next week. I'm expecting a lot of new users, we've additionally increased the free plan for e-commerce https://seodity.com/ecommerce.
we are moving a lot more of our attention towards product development this month! i'm really excited about this next phase of our project!
we're still building community and doing some light experiments with positioning, but, other than that... pretty similar to last month.
Hi John! Nice to see you here again π
I saw your community efforts and I love it! Doing book clubs and writing a personable profile of every member? Rad.
May is going to be a good month for us! Fingers crossed
omg, it's going to be so good.
Excited to see (and read about) the product development! πͺ
thanks! i appreciate that!
April went by super fast for me too! It was an awesome month for Frontend Mentor though. We had 7,824 new sign-ups last month!
This month the main focus is on improving peer-to-peer engagement. The solution submission and feedback process needs refining to provide as much context and value to both the solution authors and reviewers.
I hope everyone has a great month!
That's some pretty impressive figures! I just checked out your website and PH launch and saw that you only launched a month ago - how have you managed to get this growth in such a short space of time? Are there any lessons that you can share? :) Thanks in advance!
Thanks, Emelie! The PH launch was a month ago but the platform itself launched in April last year. The majority of the past 12 months have seen 150-300 new sign-ups per month. Then late last year it jumped a bit to 1k+. Since the PH launch in March, it's gone up quite a bit!
I actually tweeted about the jump last week, so you might be interested to see it.
So the main lesson really is to keep at it. If you keep talking to users, solving their problems, and keep your product alive you'll most likely start hitting some inflection points and seeing real growth π
Thank you so much Matt, that's some great advice. Will check out your twitter post. Looking forward to following your journey! :)
No worries! I had a quick look at VReel. It looks great!
Thanks ππ
Brainstorming the future of Zero to Marketing:
Cool what type of courses are you thinking about?
Hey Martijn, I don't know yet. Maybe a marketing crash course for startups with the basics of SEO, FB Ads, etc.?
Just an idea for now π
Would actually be quite interested in marketing for scrappy bootstrap entrepreneurs, started 2 weeks ago but feel like im getting a little stuck after some initial promotion. Amd also dont want to pay big amount of dollars initially
Sign up to my list. It's free and you will learn a lot just reading the weekly case studies.
Zero to marketing seems so cool. I just joined your email list! All the best.
Hey! Thanks and welcome aboard π
Nice! Looking forward to seeing where this goes, Andrea. Your content is really valuable π
Thank you Matt π
enjoyed what i read on these previously, looked very helpful. Just signed up, is there anywhere i can go to see a list of the write-ups you've done so far? Thanks
Thanks! Right now the best way would be to browse my old Twitter threads.
My 29th birthday is in 2 weeks May 13. So these next two weeks I am going to work harder than ever before on https://storycreatorapp.com/
20% of my time
20%
60%
only instagram or are you creating content anywhere else?
I repurpose it for LinkedIn. I need to take it more seriously. It's hard to repurpose it for Tik Tok. I feel like I need fresh content for that.
I could also use the same topic and make a YouTube video. I need to take that more seriously as well. I have been posting here and there https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCkDlCPfuBTHUt0YjgIq9xw?view_as=subscriber I would like to have a schedule. I wonder what a good amount would be. Perhaps 1-2 per week.
I also Tweet my own thoughts on Twitter. I have been more active on there. Sometimes I will repurpose IG content for Twitter.
Still learning. I think repurposing is good, but it's key to stay focused on one or two platforms.
The tiktok crowd is kinda young. I've been experimenting with it this week. You can cut up Youtube videos into ~1 minute for tiktok.
I am working on the new weekly newsletter that is going to go out Sunday from this very Sunday.
The 770 subscribers have been waiting for a month already while I was working on the new design...
I just signed up for your newsletter! You have some really great content on Colors & Fonts. I also really love your landing page. Super easy navigation and a plethora of content. Looking forward to the newsletterπ
Hey Tony !
How cool thank for your kind words, I am working on more tools this days also.
Soon up and running.
How fun that you have subscribed I won't disappoint you!
I will rebuild ranktutorials.com from scratch with ruby on rails.
The design looks very simple, but the application itself seems extremely promising. Does every submit have to be accepted by you, or do you leave users to choose the best by liking?
Thanks for the feedback! I agree on the design, that's why I intend to rebuild it from scratch. The links can be submited after registering as a user.
I have book working on my book, Writing for Software Developers, since December 2019. With content edits done, I look forward to launching this month.
If you don't mind, How difficult is it to write a book? My best wishes!
I have been working on it part-time since December 2019, while also doing school and a bit of client work. If you sit down and work on it every day it gets done eventually. At about 58,000 words, it is not the longest book ever, but it was a big effort, as was getting and transcribing eleven interviews to use in it. I will be writing a lot about the process of creating it once it is out. I am very fortunate to have friends and family who were able to help me edit it. It is still the hardest project I have ever completed.
58k words are a lot, buddy. I am sure your efforts will be worth it :)
That is a much-needed text.
Can't wait to read it!
I'm writing a book about podcasting. it's called "What's the Deal with Podcasting?"
I compare stand-up comedy and podcasting. I'm trying to write all the chapters by the end of the month. The book is available for pre-order right now though: https://gumroad.com/l/gaMxO

No problem, the founder @sahil has done a couple of interviews for IH. It's a great place to go besides Amazon, the fees are not as high 8% + $0.30. Sellers get a lot more data too. We can see where the sale came from + the email of the buyer.

I'm working on the MVP for Letterbase, which is a customer support tool focused on three things:
I launched a landing page about a week or two ago and already have a few users who have signed up on the mailing list. Really excited to launch the MVP soon and get feedback from them :)
I struggled to find high-quality advice on making profitable stuff. So Iβm creating a newsletter to help myself and other makers learn and grow. π
In fact, I've used the same actionable advice in my 1st newsletter issue to make my first ever $50.
I will be publishing 1 issue per week β I have them already lined up and... It's all amazing stories I can already take the lessons from and apply them. For the month of May, I'll be doing this to build cadence.
The biggest goal however is:
Run a mastermind group to help makers launch their first newsletter
PS: @rosiesherry, I'm learning so much about community building from you. Great way to get people to know each other before talking about themselves! Putting that into my "book of community building methods"
πIt's on my list to write more about community building, I struggle to find the time. :| (Or that's an excuse for not prioritising it).
Would it nudge you towards it if you have a loyal subscriber following your progress? More motivation to get started!
I also like to think of it as: if you work on those writings now, it'll only compound. People will read it and reach out to you with more tips. You'll also help build amazing communities all around!
First of all I have a birthday in May!
My aims are:
Hi Akcium, I'm in the same boat as you with #1, my "next project" after this month's launch is to work out more.
I started april working out 5 days per week. And I'd continue but I got absolutely no time for working on my project, so now I almost don't workout but at least I keep diet and it works, got -4kg in April :)
Good luck with your goals!
May is huge! Going to start getting beta testers into Cleaver, market the PH Ship page to convert subscribers and expand beta testers base, iterate on Cleaver per feedback, and then hopefully go-live sometime mid to late May.
I was about to say I saw another product called Cleaver a while ago, but I checked and it is called Cleaved (and also not launched). Beta-testing is fun. Hope you have a great group to work with.
I'm working on an image merging web service. Not sure whether people would use it though but I am still gonna try it anyway.
Image merge is a great idea. People spend either time or money to do that now. Especially useful is to have it as a tool for social media like Grammarly. Something that is where it is needed at the time it is needed.
Thanks! This motivated me to carry on developing it :D
Building backlinks to passportlist.co, targeting at least over 100 high authority backlinks
I'm still working on my book, Analytics for Indies (it's a guide to take you from "not sure what to do" to "analytics are done" in less than a day).
I got some great feedback on an early draft from some members of the community here and I'm going back to add extra content to each chapter.
Outside world permitting, it'll be out later this month.
The email course, at least, is already done and sending out quick wins and free guides. signup.analyticsforindies.com if you're into it.
Working on Stripe payments integration for divjoy.com, along with some nicely designed checkout forms you can drop into your project.
Once that's in you'll be able to generate a React codebase with a full UI, auth, db, and subscription payments π
Sounds like a killer feature!
After a lot of work we are finally getting some visibility in the right keywords for https://mocki.io. Now we just need to keep pushing the site to climb and get some steady organic traffic :-)
Plan for the weekend is to get some content marketing articles published.
Definitely something I've needed in the past! Really like the design as well. Any reason you need full Github read access? For a new service that might be a blocker for me.
Thanks! I understand that it might be a deal breaker. It is required for when you decide to integrate your project with GitHub since we need to read a configuration file inside your repository. It could be a good idea to only require full read when you choose to set up your project that way though, does that sound better to you?
Ah okay, it wasnβt clear to me that you can read that file from GitHub. Thatβs a nice feature. Iβd make that more clear so users understand why you want to read their repos or potentially split that up into a second step.
Trying to finish up my productivity/to-do/time-tracking app and launch a private alpha. Need to come up with a name. I hate naming things, so stressful!
Naming and branding is my favorite part π
If only I could borrow your brain for a little while...
There is a popular quote, I don't know the quote fits here or not but naming things is hard in any field.
"There are only two hard things in Computer Science: cache invalidation and naming things."
I have trouble naming everything in life... companies, variables, kids, functions, etc.
I am working on https://appwrite.io. Appwrite is an open-source backend server designed to help developers get a better starting point to their web, mobile or native apps. Currently working on version 0.6 which will add some missing UI features and support for Flutter apps.
I'm working on building a couple features that will substantially increase engagement on Makerlog, the community for indie makers shipping products together.
Care to share which features you're building to increase engagement and how you determined those features were going to move the needle?
Mostly just feedback and intuition. I made the feed much more engaging by increasing types of content (not just tasks, but discussions and whatnot) - all to increase interactivity on-site.
love it! how are you making money atm?
Gold subscriptions and direct, indie advertisers - I detailed on this on my latest blog post!
ah, sweet!
you've said it's profitable @ $300/mo β what are you operating costs, just curious?
Around 60-70 bucks a month. :)
sweet! are you full-time or part-time? i didn't see the tag on the product page.
very, very cool.
John, you should check out Sergio's IH interview, it was very good.
https://www.indiehackers.com/podcast/151-sergio-mattei-of-makerlog
omg. thank you!
hey! yes - i work mostly on makerlog but it's not full time as I'm a student.
very impressed... yo, keep going!
Hello people, have started to initially get the word out on IH to gauge interest for
www.weakbackbuilder.com
Looking to see if I can help devs improve their lower back and posture to see if they too suffer with a weak back like I did from all the sitting we do.
Upload some more videos and add them to the mailing list along with doing more content marketing.
I like the developer-centric messaging and theming, way to specify your audience!
As you create content, I would focus on at-home exercises for the next who-knows-how-long as that is what the demand is for.
thanks, glad you liked the design :)
Yep, home exercises is what i'll be covering, in fact it's what i'm doing personally to keep fit. Thanks.
Nice work, looks promising. What is your long term strategy to get traffic?
Thanks, at the moment my focus is to get my content and thoughts out. As for strategy i'll initially look for guest posting and take it from there. If you have any tips that might help let me know thanks :)
We're working on some new templates for https://versoly.com/ that should make us a lot more competitive in the market. That has always been our weak point compared to other builders and templates.
Once that is done going hard on marketing again, and will of course share the results here.
Hey, I've come across your product multiple times and I've wondered what is the secret sauce compared to other site builders? Obviously there's the top dogs like Carrd and Webflow but what would make someone say "this is exactly built for me"? Not meant to be a jab, more to help with positioning since I think your templates are pretty good already.
Great question.
I would say the three things that make us special is our focusing on speed in terms of building a website, HTML import/export and our analytics (we track 25-60% more data than google due to ad block).
That is one reason we have a lot of backend developers using us. They know HTML but aren't designers so they love using us.
The other builders you have to learn.
Webflow has 100s hours of content, with us you get the building blocks and a nice UI.
Carrd is great for simple projects but you have to upgrade to a different platform once you want blogs etc.
Our goal currently is to target marketers who are freelancers, working at small agencies or companies.
Are you targeting marketers? I'm confused π
new landing page coming soon
Curious to see it π
Ok so it might have been the landing page organization but I missed some things before. I'm actually building a SaaS business and think your service might be what I need.
The main draw for me is the blogging CMS since its complex to setup WP for non-technical people and even then, getting it to look like your main site takes a lot of tweaking.
Second is the analytics which is also a pain to set up manually on other landing page builders.
My suggestion is to not group all your features together in one section - people love to scroll. Clearly highlight the blogging and analytics since those are both awesome features! Use words that are powerful and evoke emotions (can google this).
I plan to try out your site next week as I build out the next stage for my business. That HTML import/export is huge in giving me the peace of mind that I can grow with your platform. Thanks!
The blog did really well on PH, I always forget how hard it is just to set a basic one up.
@volkandkaya when I have attempted to share a link to your site in Facebook Messenger it says this is against community standards. I have messaged Facebook saying this should not be the case but thought would let you know.
Other than that the website looks good.
Thanks.
This happened before and luckily we got in contact with someone who works at FB. Otherwise we would have never got unbanned.
It seems facebook do this often and ruin peoples business.
I really like your name!!
Working on perfecting Listnrs User Dashboard(https://www.listnr.tech/) and a proper growth - user acquisition strategy. If all goes well, we'll release in the last week of May :))
Working on perfecting Listnrs User Dashboard(https://www.listnr.tech/) and a proper growth - user acquisition strategy. If all goes well, we'll release in the last week of May :))
I have been taking things week by week so far. A big feature that was originally planned to be completed in June was finished this week (subscriptions).
While there is most certainly daily code commits, I will be focused on acquiring paying customers. My goal is 50 by the end of May and 1,000 users by the end of June. Furthermore, I will be meeting with a former Japanese instructor of mine to collaborate on a new feature. What I have also been doing is to invite my users to every weekly planning meeting and sent out Friday announcements of what we have accomplished during the week.
With that being said, the rest of May is going to be all about increasing user base (and revenue) while preparing for the next big feature for Yomi.ai.
I'm working on new Public Speaking coaching programs. Helping people overcome phobia of public speaking online and in real life. I've shifted to a model of working with clients and groups on Zoom and it's been going great. Check it out: publicspeakingmethods.com
Hi, I'm looking to do a podcast/video chat to help people at home keep busy, and I'm looking for people to share their beauty tips and tricks whilst in lockdown, if anyone is interested in helping please leave your details in the contact form below.
And hopefully, have this content out during May

Working on a social discovery tool for interesting conversations.
Hello, working on Belongery.com. We released to some beta testers and are looking for feedback! We aim to be a community where members feel like they belong. A place to discover and discuss topics of interests. We built it on Bubble.io as a nontechnical founder but hope to grow the community!!

I created Covid19 tracker for Indian states and cities. I wanted a simple table UI which is fast and responsive to search for confirmed cases in different states and cities. Planning to market it to get more users.
How are fetching the data for it?
Trying to get Kollect (https://kollectapp.com) MRR to US$ 1K :)
Launched https://www.programmerweekly.com/ couple of weeks ago and will be working on to grow it.
I am working on a website to track Covid-19 cases in the US (https://ncov19us.com). I am seeing an increase in users and I am hoping to grow this further.
May will be our first month generating revenue at LegUp Health. We plan to wrap up initial product development and shift our attention to customer acquisition. The milestone we are aiming for in May (and June) is 50 clients. We have 6 so far.
I and my friends are working on an a tool for developers. It's a web based Editor and CLI tool that helps developers generate Swagger OpenAPI Schemas with a new and easy syntax.
Our goal is to propose a very short and easy to understand Syntax for developers to write Swagger Files. It will allow you to integrate the tool into your projects and use either CLI or Web based editor to generate Swagger files for you. We have just launch the Alpha Version that you can find here https://tauqeernasir.github.io/tssg-editor/
Thanks for reading :)
I'm working on a newsletter that sends a list of every startup that got funding in the past month and the founder's email / contact information. I've started a few companies spending millions of dollars and have never made a dime from my software (aside from paying myself from funds raised).
I've only ever made money from being hired to build software for other startups/ businesses. I had this need to get more leads and thought others might as well. It's $75 a month, but I don't have any customers yet so I'm unsure of where pricing needs to be. Any feedback on pricing on the landing page would be appreciated!
https://softwarestartupleads.substack.com/p/coming-soon?r=2n9ul&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&utm_source=copy
What are your data sources? And who are you target paid subscribers? (I assume investors?)
Might want to start with a free newsletter and charge for premium content (a la https://www.cbinsights.com/)
Data sources are a bunch of different sites that Iβm able to scrape from. The process isnβt automated and is still very manual.
Iβm thinking the same thing as well. What do you think the free newsletter should include?
Depends on your target audience and the problem you are trying to solve for them.
If itβs investors and helping them find deals, I recommend subscribing to the CB insight newsletter to get a taste of something already out there.
Been working on https://pointway.app, trying to get beta testers! Much to do!

I'm working on my newsletter (https://chrisxwan.substack.com/)! I've switched to a weekly cadence, and it's been challenging to keep up the pace.
I am working on Changelogg (https://changelogg.io). It is an easy-to-setup Github app to automate changelog flow to debug production bugs effectively, to keep the team connected with new changes through a user-friendly dashboard or slack notifications and to help you gain valuable insights from it.
I am currently struggling a lot with sales and leads generation so having hard time getting feedback and initial users. Will focus on it this month.
Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback :)
It would be great if you can add few visuals and explain more about your product using content (not video). I visited your website but immediately bounced because I was not able to get the value proposition in the first fold.
My main focus is going to be on https://swipefiles.co β my membership site for marketing and copywriting examples with detailed teardowns.
I've just launched and already have a handful of customers. Now I just need to figure out the best ways to:
Swipe Files looks really useful. I just subscribed to your mailing list, and look forward to seeing some examples.
This month I'm working on a good marketing place-holder page for SketchyReq to put up on the front-end of my site so that I can gain interest and alpha testers while I prepare for the alpha testing phase. I'm really hoping to start alpha testing for the latter half of the month!
I'm nervous as hell about starting with front-end dev work because it's not my specialty whatsoever.
Hi I am working on Codequarantine, https://codequarantine.landen.co.
The goal is to build a platform for learning data science skills. I am currently hosting free online classes using the platform.
The biggest goal for may is to get the platform up and running and building out the tutorials for a full data science learning path.
I'm working on a global Shopify search (https://snapshop.netlify.app). Just got it minimally working. Now evaluating whether is this worth pursuing.
Hey @rosiesherry Great post!
Our team is working heavily on development work this month. We're launching Chromabill on the App Store on May 29th so we're on a time crunch. Here are a few things we're implementing before launch:
A lot to get done in a short amount of time... but our dev team has been killing it!
I'm participating in the Mozilla Builders Open Lab with a friend. Our goal is to make connecting with friends easier in these weird times. We're working on a better version of Doodle now for setting up videocalls with your friends.

A lot of things... creating a podcast, growing my twitter, building a new website, writing on medium, creating new Youtube videos while working with clients - it's going to be a big month for me!
I moved away from automatic Instagram branding with my product since I noticed that a lot of indie hackers don't use Instagram. Ever since I removed the words Instagram I do notice a small increase in conversion already on my landing page :)
One of these days I'll use my own product to improve my landing page at https://targetaudience.app . Can't wait how that will increase conversion!
Finished a preliminary version of my personal website, and working on actually writing my first blog post. I have tons of ideas (~20 or so posts I'm quite enthusiastic about) but I've for some reason been procrastinating a bit on it.
The website is at www.hugomontenegro.com if anyone wants to take a look and perhaps give some feedback on layout & design (please do!)
May is off to a great start for me as I have just published a demo showing off the flight analysis features I have built. Over the course of this month I plan on slowly releasing more content, and eventually opening up for business!
Working on new demo video for Group Leads - https://groupleads.net
Launching HelloMixy.com (startup) and NomadLandlord.com (weekend project) this month.
Both very different, but both passion projects!
Continuing work on https://www.topstonks.com, an aggregator of stock chatter on 4chan and wallstreetbets.
My goal is to find repeatable marketing channels and increase paid signups.
Your landing page is pretty funny!
But I'm not sure if I would want to pay to get "the best advice from the worst investors on the Internet". You need to have a stronger value proposition there, especially since it's the first thing people will read.
I'm finishing the MVP for SMASHCUT (https://github.com/SMASH-CUT), a Screenplay as a Subtitle Netflix extension (SaaS).
I'm currently working on https://joshternyak.com. I made my first podcast episode and blog post yesterday and am already ranking on the 1st page! If you search "succeeding online when you're young" my video should be up there!
https://thisappwillgiveyouabs.com/summerbod2020
Going to add the full plan with weekly goals you can follow.
That's quite the domain name!
That's quite the username! π
Figured I would make it very clear what is going on. :)
So, I have been thinking about it a lot and have taken some major decisions which include progressing more as indie hacker/maker than keep repeating and experimenting for my agency. I am working on my personal blog and one more project. Might as well write a post in my blog regarding that. Biggest goal for may would be to finish the blog!
I am working on a new written series called Rewind: A Field Guide To Profiting From Big Mistakes (https://medium.com/todd-insights/rewind-a-field-guide-to-profiting-from-big-mistakes-episode-1-7c47db7f2e?source=friends_link&sk=e5ae0f2bb58300d34b28cbaab0c731e6).
Episode 1 was posted on Medium and is climbing. Just getting successful people to admit their biggest mistake is the hard part. However, my first interview is next week.
I would like to migrate the tooling behind Deployment from Scratch from gitbook. It was a terrrible decision and now I have to pay in time to move to something better :). Also need to send out an update for my mailing list soon.
During april we've partly focused on solving bugs from our previous launch, but mostly increasing our traffic. We've created some new projects on our platform, and for now and throughout May we're launching a couple of new landing pages to increase SEO and conversion.
My personal goal for the next couple of weeks is to sell 5 clips or subscriptions, which I think is totally do:able :)
This is similar to what we've been doing.
Seeing as the current market is at a standstill, all our competitors are in the same position as us, so it's a great opportunity to fix up.
Totally see what you mean. Just had a look at your product, seems really cool!
In Sweden there's an app which pretty much all beauticians etc use which is called "Boka Direkt" (book direct). It's huge and has almost become a "quality assurance" for that you run a serious business/saloon. Maybe if you can manage to google translate it it could be worth having a look at for inspiration :) https://www.bokadirekt.se/
Thank you for sharing this @Emelie, this has been super helpful π
We're building AnyForm (https://anyform.co/).
The problem: Google Forms is almost a fantastic way to embed forms ('contact us', 'feedback', 'sign up', etc.) on your site, but it completely clashes with your brand's style and offers almost no customization.
The solution: AnyForm lets you hook up a Google Form as the 'backend' for any form that you've created. So you get the power and convenience of Google Forms with whatever style you want.
We just soft-launched to the Bubble (a popular no-code web app builder) community and are releasing support for traditional dev in the next week or so.
Are you targeting more of the developer crowd or people who would use a website builder?
We're targeting both of those categories - which do you fit into :)?
Developer crowd for sure.
Nice! Happy to give you early access to that feature if you're keen to try it ;). Pop me an email at alex@anyform.co.
I am working on affTable.com, it's a collection of affiliate programs related to SaaS !
If you're a content creator and you're considering monetization, feel free to check out AffTable.
Good list! You should add ratings to let affiliates rate the programs.
Thought about rating. But high-rating programs will be usually well-known programs, e.g Namecheap, Bluehost, etc. New programs or programs from startups will enjoy less attention. I am not sure if it's good to encourage users to join former programs, though rating + JSON-LD will generate better SEO results for sure.
Also, there are very few users leaving comments on the Disqus plugin now. I don't think rating will be different. The priority will be given to putting more valuable content to the list or detail pages.
If you have any idea, feel free to shout out here.

My product buildfaster.io. I am finishing up with my MVP by polishing the HTML/CSS themes and templates and working on the documentation. I will plan to start selling at the end of the month.
Hola Brayden,
I was wondering why you haven't put out a landing page yet. I saw you gave feedback on so many of them that I expected you would have one as well!
I have taken down the ones I have made in the past. In a week, Iβll release the landing page Iβve been working on for the past couple months for BuildFaster.
Then you all can give feedback. π
Started work on Prentus a week ago where we connect startups to tech apprentices who can help build their products faster. The landing page is ready and already got some waiting list sign-ups.
In May, my goal is to place 5 apprentices in startups that are top referrers of our site, learn what works, and then have enough info at the end of the month to build a great MVP in Bubble in June.
The secondary goal is to build a huge list of GREAT leads. No random emails but rather people/companies that are exactly my target market.
Very interesting idea. Definitely worth looking into. Signed up!
This seems interesting! I wonder if there's some way to partner with online classes that teach coding (codecademy or freecodecamp etc)?
I'm working on something in a similar vein except its to help software consulting firms on lead generation.
Yeah that's exactly who I'm targetting! I already have a partnership in place with Thinkful to get grads from their program. I plan to expand the partners after I launch the full platform in a couple of months.
As for your tool, there could possibly be some overlap in who I would target so I'd love to hear more.
But what is your project?
Thanks for calling that out! Just updated it haha
We are looking to improve the ease of use for customers to report issues for https://cloudsprt.com as this is where we are behind the competition.
Once we have this finished we are going to dive deeper into our marketing and blogging.
Really liked the homepage, the internal pages have a white background behind the logo, I think it will look better with transparency
