    Copywriting and onboarding for https://versoly.com/

Finally have some sort of product market fit. Visitors are signing up and paying without ever talking to us.

    • Visitor to demo is great (can be improved)
    • Demo to sign up is low. (Hard to track)
    • Sign up to paid is okay
    1. 2

I bought your product. Love how our site came out. Mostly because of the example site you setup that showed how to market a SAAS product. I almost didn’t buy after finding there wasn’t a 1:1 template of that example site. I think adding that might help others make the leap to purchasing.

      1. 1

        This one https://sumit.versoly.com/?

If so I will add it.

        1. 1

          Yup that’s the one!

Building yet another commenting system, but with a twist.

Launching it on my personal blog first and really polishing it before trying to get first customers. Looking to silently launch it before Monday on my personal site !

    1. 1

Well what's the twist, don't keep us hanging.

Also, how do you handle spam? That's my worst fear about comment systems.

  5. 2

Currently porting Album Daily over time Gatsby from create-react-app. Making good progress so I’m hoping to finish this weekend 👍🏽

  6. 2

Trying to get some more feedback for my website prisimanimations.com after adding some more features

  10. 2

This complete week has been pretty tedious with sleepless nights. The weekend is no different than the weekdays until we finish all the projects.

Customer frenzy at Draftss.com given that December had been the sloth of all months, it's just about time that customers start flowing in and the complete project management cycle starts. Updating client logos, testimonials, among several other small updates in progress.

After working on Artworkss.com for more than 6 months in stealth mode, we are now at a stage where we are burning the midnight oil to push the project live and bring some beta users to the project.

Another project i.e. Prospectss.com is completed with lots of bugs. We are thoroughly testing the product and squashing these bugs as we find them. Planning to launch this product by the end of this month.

We have been using a combo of Chargebee & Stripe on Illustrationss.com but it seems to have some troubles catering to Indian Customers. As discussed with the Stripe support team earlier and on another IH post, we are finally building 2 pricing (One for Indian Customers & another for non-Indian customers) detected based on user origin and catered the respective page.

  11. 2

I’m gonna be working on Typehut’s paid plan: integrating with Stripe and allowing custom CSS as a paid feature.

  12. 2

Taking https://coco.so from for-friends-only to the first launch. Still struggling with the copy and building onboarding flows.

    1. 3

Following Coco now. But how do you get up in the morning to work on the 43215th "modern productivity app"? I wouldn't find the motivation because the market seems too saturated for this kind of app.

      1. 4

I get up in the morning because increasing people's productivity by 1% has major downstream effects. 43125 others are working on this because of its impact + because there often aren't great solutions.

If you believe to have a unique insight into a market, motivation isn't hard. My strength is nailing UX and I will execute on this until being productive is as fun as dating :)

        1. 1

As fun as dating? Looking forward to that day ;-D

    2. 1

Hey, Congrats on the first Launch! what was method of making it friend-only, and what is your process of going first launch?

If by copy you mean copyright © I’ll also like to hear your struggle.

      I’m just learning 😁

      1. 1

Friend-only just meant that some parts of the app were build quickly where I would explain friends what works and what doesn't yet. But as I can't do that with strangers, I need to fix all of those things. :)

Copy means the texts you use on your website. Copywriting is then the process of writing those words specifically for e.g. a website.

  13. 1

Went hiking in Sweden with my nephew and enjoyed family and nature. Love the getaways into the nature. Kinda recharges my brain 😁

  14. 1

Working on https://emberek.credit , an employment credit check for the peruvian market.

  15. 1

Travelled to İstanbul this weekend. Today is about getting good rest, prioritizing key tasks for the week and planning since I'll be meeting with my co-founder (of the HGO Project) tomorrow.

  16. 1

I have quite a bit of a backlog to go through, but it comes down to two things:

    • For https://learnjiapp.com I need to generate new social media posts and automate the process as much as possible;
    • For https://makeandmoney.com prepare a second newsletter and do some other initial work, as only the very basic Ghost provided template is in place right now.
  17. 1

On the iOS SDK for BugHound. https://www.bughound.io Hope to get it out the door soon.

  20. 1

Prototyping https://roomcompare.herokuapp.com/. This might be useful for UK based peeps. Looking for feesback on any kind, and validation I guess (before I invest more time on the project).
Also currently working on a browser extension to go along with the webapp :)

  21. 1

Working on filters for my side-project Hireboard.io

  22. 1

    • Working in delivering a few mobile apps for clients of my productized mobile app building service https://design2ionic.com
    • Planning a content marketing strategy for this service
  24. 1

My company is called Petcademy, think codecademy for dog training, and I just submitted the concept to the Petco Innovation Showdown. We are hoping to raise some money via this competition! Here is our submission video if anyone's interested :) https://vimeo.com/384269534

  25. 1

Redoing my consulting website. I've got the Work page about done, and now I need to set up a new server and I'll force myself to use Ansible on it.

Then I deploy the Laravel application, tweak DNS to point to the new server, and that will be that!

  26. 1

I am currently building and testing a handful of new exchange integrations on CryptoTrader.Tax

  27. 1

An API to allow emails to be sent from some static sites that me and some friends look after. Maybe it could be of interest to others?!

  28. 1

Finally getting back in the swing of things after the holidays. I think I took about 4 weeks off from working on my side project, which my brain honestly needed.

Now I'm reviewing the code and making sure I remember what all I did. I'm also working on an outline for a data engineering workshop that I would like to host when I do my travels throughout Latin America (purely out of fun). And I'm also planning for my travels throughout Latin America, in which I've already identified some opportunities for creating a business to solve problems that I'll eventually encounter.

Not a bad start to 2020.

    1. 1

Just curious here :) if you can share what are you doing for Latin America? Im Argentinian

  29. 1

Knocking out the kinks in my email service and search results (using 2 external apis to populate info so many unknowns).

    Fixing mobile responsiveness.

Styling it nicer with some dribble inspiration

    Refactoring for reliability

Maybe adding a couple more user preference options

  30. 1

I'm building a little transcription tool für my friend which needs to transcribe hour long interviews. If this tool proofs itself I might publish it one day :-)

  31. 1

Building out some more document templates and working on marketing for https://docamatic.com :)

  32. 1

This weekend i'll be spending time finishing the last few MVP tasks I have and then hopefully getting some people in to start trying it out and offering feedback next week!

I'll also be spending some time on the landing page

  33. 1

Finding ways to get early users for https://sudoapps.com

  34. 1

Working on a pretty awesome web framework with my co-founder. If you like Laravel and you want to learn more about Kotlin; welp, that's what we are working on - bringing a delightful laravel-like web framework to the Kotlin community with https://alpas.dev.

More specifically, I am working on:

    • Planning OKRs
    • Creating a plan of attack
    • Having fun working with my co-founder
  35. 1

I'm off today! Back at it tomorrow

  36. 1

    Adding features to https://guesstheproduct.com
I'm also searching for a new screenshot service, because the current service sometimes produces a bit broken results.

  37. 1

Reading about marketing, polishing nearly finished product and planning to launch it in upcoming month.
I will definitely open IH page soon :)

  38. 1

Adding Opera browser extensions to ranking on extensionrank.com

  39. 1

Doing some final Redding the latest release of https://critimon.com. Going well so far so far so hoping to release tomorrow 😀

  40. 1

Just got my Shopify app hooked up to the billing API. Tomorrow will be about quickly putting together a landing page. Or possibly some quick testing.

  41. 1

    Today

I launched a product that is doing $20k MRR and growing Jan 2. Unfortunately, this product is for a client. However, it's been exciting to see code I wrote scaling to 1k users and it making money. So I am addressing issues and updating features like this one https://cl.ly/db4987d9e796.

Now that I just finished that. I am working on my landing page for my video editing app https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IO98dI7QaOk1FCRsU1ZYcHFIuxqYv-dg/view.

I am doing more research on my target customer (I am having a hard time answering this) I want to say it's social media content creators, but that feels too vague. The approach I am going to try is engaging with communities that attract social media marketers like r/socialmedia. Create content there, offer value, and see which people are resonating the most with my product idea. Then from that point building a persona and being more specific where that set of people hangs out at.

The last thing for the weekend is to figure out which social media platforms allow me to post content from my app. I've built the editor, but it would be super convenient if the app could post for you instead of downloading and manually uploading. I know twitter, FB, etc have social share buttons. I just need to see what's possible in that regard to make it as easy for the user to get the content out.

Lastly, today is the day to enjoy the Zoo with my girl and the dog park with the pups. Time is ticking. Let's get it!

Today was the election day (both presidential and legislature) here in Taiwan. I met up to watch the results and had some drinks with my friends, so I wasn't too productive.

Tomorrow, I'll get back to the regular schedule and record a screencast for my premium subscribers.

  43. 1

Completing the beta version of a public API for Tipalink.com. This will let other developers add tipping functionality to their websites and web apps without having to use the Tipalink plugin.

  44. 1

Automatically add users to Mailchimp so that I don't have to do it manually.
Send out a feature update email.
Do some product planning. I'm thinking about what features will bring the most value to my users.
Start one of the new features.

  45. 1

Apart from spending time with my family, I keep writing a product specification, landing page copy, and do corresponding research. After years of jumping head first into coding my pet projects, this feels extremely tedious and unsatisfying. I hope it will prove to be beneficial in the long term.

  46. 1

Releasing auto-calling for sales.meettalkative.com. We have it live at our website currently, but i want to release for everyone. We help you talk to any visitor on your website instantly (I try talk to everyone who visits our landing page)

  47. 1

Today I'm stepping away from the code. I'm fixing the drywall in a hallway (a never-ending task in this house), going for a hike, maybe dinner and a movie later.

  48. 1

Working on working smarter and working harder.

Deleted Twitter from my phone. Turned it greyscale.

Time to get down to business.

  49. 1

I'm trying to validate this sleep app idea i'm working on.
Sleeping is something we all need, but unfortunately don't all get very much of or very good quality of sleep. I'm trying to validate that people actually want to improve their sleep (which in my mind.. they would?)

Here's a survey of 6 questions that would definitely help me validate if you want to improve your sleep! https://forms.gle/BxMUhTRmuH97h5jo9

    Thanks!

  50. 1

May plan for this weekend to integrate Twilio with my product. My initial goal is to receive a SMS notifications when ever anybody plays my game.

Since it is an online, multiplayer game it is a much better experience if there is actually somebody else present.

I do have bots so you do have something to fight but it is not the same as playing with a real person.

  51. 1

Finishing touches to Shipmight, my open source PaaS (IH community post here), by using it to deploy another project of mine to production. Published a landing page for it this week. Looking for testers and feedback!

  52. 1

    I'm working on https://textible.app/

It helps you to convert your Whatsapp audio messages to text.

    In the next weeks:

    • Release the app
    • Promotion, promotion, promotion
    • Monetize it
    1. 2

interesting. Looking forward to trying the app when available

  53. 1

I am trying to build a Lambda based website snapshot API for my custom sharing images for Request It.

  54. 1

    Working on https://forkedmerch.com/

  55. 1

Figuring out methods of marketing my side project (https://www.peempoint.com).

Since my budget is low, perhaps content marketing makes sense. If there are other cheap methods of promoting, let me know.

    Thank you.

  56. 1

I just launched my project now so I will be working on preparing a blog post about the adventure I had in PH. I still have 17 hours for today to finish, fingers are crossed :) It is #1 product in PH right now as of 6:51AM PT.

    https://www.producthunt.com/posts/up-ninja

  57. 1

Linking the new frontend of my app to the backend.

There is one tricky bit because the development is done using parcelJS (at localhost:1234) but the backend is PHP (localhost:80), so I have to enable CORS requests. But in the production build the frontend will be on the same server as the backend, so no CORS requests needed.

  58. 1

Spend quality time with my children as much as possible, but when they are sleeping:

    • Migrating our frontends and backends to a new server for coolLabs. (Luckily everything is running in containers, so the only pain part is the DNS propagation - but with a good TTL, it is easier)

    • Publishing a new product - writing blog post & update IH pages :-)

    1. 1

Quick question, saw the notes in the profile that said moving from DO to a small German company with the goal to go dedicated.

Do you mind if I ask why you didn't go with one of the major cloud players?

      1. 1

1 of our goal is to be independent from all large companies (the big five) & any 3rd parties. If we use a major cloud host provider, our goal looks like just a marketing ploy in my opinion.

DO is a super great provider tbh. We rented a 15$ server from them, but for that price, you can get way better performance at a smaller provider - which is totally enough for us at the moment.

        1. 1

Appreciate the reply, I went back and understand your reasoning. I can get behind that (even when it feels weird to look at links about "bad" tech companies from gizmodo).

          1. 1

Yeah, it's a bit weird, maybe I should not use their post. Hmm. Thanks for the suggestion!

But the problem they are talking about is real, I think. Most of the internet is connected to the large companies behind the scenes & it's hard to follow where your data goes. That is the problem what our side project would like solve.

  59. 1

Adding profiles and product pages to my Indie Hackers mobile client Moon

A new version should be out next week for the beta group!

  60. 1

Currently refining my narcissist test. Haven't done anything with that project for months: https://frjk.de/am-i-a-narcissist/

  61. 1

I am working on a redesign of the landing page for www.bubblinglab.com and trying to improve the copy as it something I really struggle with.

  62. 1

Now that the Sales for Founders course is finally live, I need to put together a new landing page where people can go and enroll straight away (instead of going to the earlybird waitlist).

I'll be working on that and the new onboarding sequence all weekend.
