I just went ahead and launched Rolegram.com after spending ~3 months working on it.

Lots of things to be improved, but my next milestone is acquiring the first 10 customers.

    Reading about SEO

    1. 1

Totally on this train too. Had to reconsider my entire marketing strategy after learning more about how SEO works.

      1. 1

SEO is a beast. Didn't realize it's so much to learn about it. What you reading?

        1. 1

Totally. Right now I'm powering through SEO 101 by Moz. Some other IH'er dropped it a few days ago and finally got around to reviewing it. Pretty good stuff as someone coming in with zero knowledge.

Install Ruby on Rails on mac OS and hope that it works!

Good luck. See you on Monday! =)
RoR is awesome, but it's amazing how long it still takes to setup dev environments in 2019

      1. 1

Agreed! Already ran into some issues while seeing up Git 😒

I've been building a platform for creating and sharing "mini-docs" for getting started in a new coding language/framework. I.e. cheatsheets. Finished building the platform itself last week, so this weekend has been about seeding it with some content and then getting started on the landing page. If anyone wants to jump on early to help me create some cheatsheets for languages/frameworks/libraries they care about, lemme know :)

Heya! I haven't fully polished all the edges and only have had time to seed it with a few cheatsheets, but hey, never too early to share I suppose: https://www.morsel.dev/ :) Let me know your thoughts!

By day, I'm gardening and keeping my kids entertained while my wife is out of town for business. By night--I couldn't stand the old https://introcave.com design any more, so I've been jamming on a new look for the home page.

  25. 1

Working on another T-Shirt shop concept. My sister is still busy with our parents at home so we're having difficulty proceeding with our previous idea.

I'm also reading up on the Phoenix framework, Domain-Driven Development, and Type-Driven Development. 😁

Working on a mobile app with flutter called Swim Stats. The app will display swim times from swimmers within USA Swimming and allow users to see the time cuts that they're close to and the cuts they've achieved. Currently, USA Swimming time cuts are spread across different pdfs across the web and there currently isn't a mobile solution that I'm aware of that will pull all of a user's times and compare them to all of the common time cuts.

Trying to figure out how to find time for all the SmashNotes features, while still creating notes and the weekly podcast. One is constantly getting in the way of the other. You know, normal startup stuff.

  28. 1

I am trying to get some feedback for a video editing tool. Trying to record a few videos for a course I have in mind.

  29. 1

    Designing the new member portal!

This weekend I've been polishing up usability for PanelJam's new mobile-first drawing tools.

That's largely out of the way, and so now I'm building out a forum for the site to have launched by Monday. Luckily, I can use the Simple Discussion gem which copies the forum used on GoRails. Easy!
