What are your 2021 plans?

I never do a list of the things I want to achieve in the new year... but this year has been especially shitty and I haven't done too much... so here there is my list:

• I want to make my first dollar on internet alone (up to now, the things I've done were done with partners).
• Build a pretty simple SaaS or a Micro-SaaS, nothing complicated, but I want to do it right. So I will take another Micro-SaaS as an example and I will try to do something similar.
• I want to document all the process, so maybe the SaaS, per se, would not be interesting, but maybe I can get some attraction meanwhile the process of building it or after it. I think there are many things to talk about, like marketing, subscriptions, onboarding where there are many people struggling and I can work a lot on those topics and document all my steps there.
• Finish my MSC in Web development.

Those are the main things, there are others, but I would be pretty happy if can achieve those.

🎯 My 2021 goals for Divjoy:

• Double revenue to $100k. I'm really happy with how my first year went, but I feel like I've maxed out the # of sales I can drive via my twitter and newsletter audience. This year is going to be all about SEO and content marketing to get the product in front of more people.
• Community. I'm launching a private Discord community and planning on investing a lot of time into creating a space where creators can help each other out and build together. I'm hoping this also adds a lot of long-term value to make it easier to switch to ...
• A recurring revenue model. One-off sales are stressful, but make sense for a digital product that many people just need once. I'm hoping I can successfully switch to a yearly model and cater to devs who value a close-knit community and who launch one or more products a year. We'll see!
• Product improvements. Too many to really mention here, but a big focus is going to be on making it easier for people to grab just a single component or single integration that they can drop into an existing project. Right now Divjoy is for starting a new project. In the future I'd like it to also be the first place people visit when they want to improve an existing project.

We design and code themes and templates to be used for websites. The problem is that we only offer it as an HTML template using Bootstrap, which is frustrating for those who don't know how to code. I think we're missing big here.

That being said, our plan is to improve the design, and start providing our templates in no code technologies, such as Wordpress, but also expand our set of technologies for developers, such as React, Angular, and Vue JS.

I'll focus on a single product every 3 months, to see where it goes. I hope I'll have enough time, given that the next year I have a wedding coming and I'll become a house owner, while being the CTO of another startup. But one-ish hour every day should get me pretty far in 3 months, espeecially that I managed to battle off to some degree the "build and they will come" attitude.

Quit my job and actually try to do something on my own.
