What are your 3 most important metrics to track?

I've been building a niche product that will help creators repurpose their top-performing content. And I have a few paying customers.

But given I'll be opening the doors to my entire waitlist, I'm not sure what metrics I should track.

What kind of product are you working on? And what are the three most important metrics for you?

I'm working on a no-code tool builder that provides building blocks (like tables, forms, logic, charts) to build data-driven tools.

MRR and MAU are our most important KPIs, and we're adding a few more KPIs as soon as we add new features which are kinda game-changing.

I'm working on a browser extension for capturing and editing screenshots.

MRR: to determine the overall financial health of the project.
Total Captures: to monitor effective usage.
Conversion: to assess how effectively users transition from free trial to paying customer.

Looks good. I would like to know extension.

We're currently working on few different projects so we focus on more than 3 metrics.

But if we choose our main project - Raport, we mainly focus on signups, visits and Active users.

But I'd say that it's usually better to track more metrics, because it allows you react to some unexpected anomalies faster.

In relation to what I've written, I'd suggest you to give Raport a try. It integrates business data from multiple sources and delivers performance reports via email. So you can easily track multiple metrics from various data sources (e.g. Google Analytics, Stripe, Google Search Console etc.).

We are in edtech space. Top three metrics: cohorts, customer lifetime value (CLV) & active customers.

I think analytics for website traffic for SEO and recurring revenue

    Three important metrics -

    1. Retention ( general and event specific)
    2. Drop off area (general and both event specific)
    3. Referring website (to get general sense where your traffic comes from to target or go strong on it)

You can use https://fusionhq.co / https://github.com/fusion-hq/fusion to easily track all these metrics!!

I'm working on a code review app. I haven't launched yet, but I found this video from YC helpful on what metrics to track:

    Context:
    I'm working on getlistzero.com

"List Zero helps ambitious devs TODO more by boosting mental energy, motivation, and flow."

    Metrics:
Previously, the focus was getting people's eyes to light up when we demo the product to them. I know this is not a metric, but the stage was very early, and it helped us morph the product to be useful to early users.

Now that we have a product that can be genuinely useful to people, I'm focused on getting 100 signups per week.

The point of this will be three-fold:

    1. Get enough people to keep learning
    2. Start quantitatively measuring retention
    3. Start making $

Later, the main metric will probably shift to retention.

Lean Analytics talks about identifying your OMTM (One Metric That Matters), and I subscribe to that idea--I think for a solo, early-stage founder 3 is probably too many.

Dont know much about metrics but "End of Month Active Users" is what i think is the most important one.
