What are your best options to build a Landing page quickly?

Hey folks!

I'm currently working on a no-code landing page builder with tailwind and Nextjs.

this tool is not just a landing page tool it can be used to create single react components that can be copied to your app directly.

the tools that I see trending right now have 2 problems:

  1. not customizable enough and easily
  2. too complex to build a landing page, and the ideal no-code tool should be as easy as using Figma to Adobe XD,
    shuffle.dev and softr.io being 2 of them.

I would love to know if you have any experience where you needed to create a landing page quickly, and what you would like to see in a tool that does this

thank you!

I'm a big fan of using Webflow and component libraries from Relume (https://library.relume.io). I can get a landing page up in a few hours and then quickly create ten's of iterations for split testing. There are a bunch of simpler drag and drop tools but I love the extensibility and design control of Webflow, and the Relume components are pretty much ready to use.

Whoa, I haven't seen Relume before and it looks like a great tool! I'm a professional dev by day, so when I'm hopping over to my side-project the last thing I'm excited about is traditional dev processes. I had been using softr for landing pages because it's easy, but it lacks some of the power features of Webflow. I was holding off on Webflow for whatever reasons, but this tool may be the tipping point for me (and my obsession with organization). Thanks for sharing this!

I run https://versoly.com/ I would say on no-code mode it is as easy as shuffle and more flexible.

Did you see https://www.wixcomponentstudio.com/ and https://webflow.com/devlink

I'm looking for someone to do the same for Versoly as a plugin.

Imagine they build site in Versoly -> Callable API endpoint -> Your npm package syncs the changes (websockets?) to a Nextjs repo.

https://story.to.design/#pricing charge $149 per project per month (for HTML - Figma).

Webflow seems to want to charge 65k a year.

      Thanks @volkandkaya!
For the point about syncing stuff I don't think you need websokets, for me what I do is create a json format schema which is stored in the database, then I have a compiler that convert that schema into a Next and tailwind app then push it into GitHub (in the user account)

And this push step happens only when the user click the export Button

      1. 2

I'm talking about taking it to the next level.

Why do they care about Nextjs if they're not a developer?
If they're a developer why do they need you?

So that means to create a solution the market needs you have to build it for teams.

        Designers and developers working together.

A designer/developer makes a change in the UI and using websockets the changes automatically update the file locally.

        1. 1

Yes, I agree with you on the point about real-time syncing, that's very Important.

For the other point "Why do they care about Nextjs if they're not a developer?"

My goal is to make something that will help non-devs build landing pages and websites, and also devs should have no problem exporting the generated code and extend on it to add more functionality.

and this is not my only goal here, the actual product that I started working on last month, is called droppy.app which is a Full no-code platform that includes building a full graphql backend. for now, there is only one way you can build a full-stack web app you use Webflow for the UI and some other tool for automation, and both of those needs you to learn them first,

the idea is to build a platform that can build the backend and frontend and generates a code that can be easily customized by any devs if needed.

in summary, "Tailwind Blocks" (the product I shared in the post) is meant for people who need to build a tailwind UI fast, no matter if they're devs or non-devs, if they are devs they can take advantage of the code, and add more functionality to it, if not they can easily deploy it with no extra technical knowledge

and thanks again for your feedback 🙏

As mentioned Versoly can handle front-end (took 4 years to get here, and there are VC backed companies with 10+ employees working years who aren't there yet) it isn't an easy problem and i have had 5+ people dm before saying they're creating React website builder. None have done it.

In terms of backend I would look at Xano or Supabase.

The reason I mentioned I replied is I agree, and there should be a tool that does

No code editor (Versoly) -> React/Vue

I don't have the time to build it, it is a huge undertaking.

99% sure Wix has 10+ people working on just that feature alone. But indie hackers can move faster.

            1. 1

It's not an easy product to build that's for sure, but think we can get it done at least to some degree

You can try check BOWWE. It was actually voted as the Best Website & Landing Page Builder by the digital marketplace platform AppSumo. https://www.nocodejournal.com/posts/nocode-tool-bowwe

I have created a couple of templates for myself where I just edit and use ..

    1. 1

Great, it would be better if you have a tool where you can edit your templates visually and gives you the ability to export them as code, that would speed up the process I think.

I'm using Hugo+Netlify to build LP for my travel marketplace for Indian market. It took me 1 day to setup and host my landing page.

    1. 1

Awesome, I'm trying to build a product that will take much less time to et your landing page ready.

  6. 1

Just found a template and made them similar. I can build a landing for my startup in less than 2 hours with HTML & CSS. Here is my example - https://ainter.me

I tried a few options for my last saas but ended up using a React template instead. The ideal tool for me would let you edit the React code and the React components would be already mobile optimized.

    1. 1

That's exactly What I'm trying to build, I already have a functional version that lets you tweak designs and generates a clean React and Typescript code for you so you can copy it to your codebase or deploy it without editing.

  8. 1

Use Landing page builders such as elementor or wp bakery . I prefer elementor because it has so many features and can be connected with various plugins.

  9. 1

I am newbie here, but I have little bit experience about it. You can use Wordpress for fast & attractive development.
    Thanks

  10. 1

I found landingfolio and tailwind components easy to use. You can just take the building blocks in various languages, frameworks and then modify to make it your own.

    1. 1

Thanks, @thejaymu, I will try to add as many templates as possible to the tool to make it easy for people to start quickly!

  11. 1

I was also looking to build a similar product as I principally use Tailwindcss and React/Next.js for my development and the existing solutions for custom site creation like webflow, wix are not very scalable for JS developers

    1. 1

that's true, I'm trying to build a product that gives you the ability to build with no code but still if you are a dev you can take the code and add more functionality to it.

and also it has a feature called components where you can design UI as you like or start from a template then customize it, and copy the code as a React component to your vscode directly.

      1. 2

Sounds interesting! It would be cool to have features that suggest variations of design. I don't know any product that uses AI for building landing page design

        1. 2

@elmredi agree with @stephpsqn that using AI to develop the landing page would be cool. I use figma to design and then hand off to a developer. I would if I had button on that said 'publish to the web' and my site went live. That's the next step for website builders

          1. 1

I agree using AI is gonna help a lot but, the latest stuff we have no is GPT-3 which is still far from being able to generate full websites with complex layouts that are responsive and unique, this will be easier in the coming few years as we see a lot of attention is put into AI recently,
The best we can do I think is use the AI to suggest components while you are building, for example, you create a button called "login" and the tool automatically suggest you add another button called signup on the side.

I really like this idea btw, thank you so much @stephpsqn and @HackBerry
