Personally, I hate the complexity with almost all ESPs out there. Even the simplest ones make things get complicated over time. And the best ones are always hard to set and hard to maintain.
What are your biggest problems with ESPs out there and how do you tackle them?
As an email delivery service, we often talk to customers who migrate from other solutions. Here are a few of the frustrations they tell us about:
Human support. That is the biggest one, not related to the product at all. Whether it's during the initial onboarding or later on, people say that support agents do very little to understand their problems and suggest solutions. It's all about pasting a canned response these days. And in reality, it's wasting both vendor's and customers' time.
DNS configuration. For best delivery, it's essential to employ SPF, DKIM, or DMARC standards which all require some DNS knowledge. Even with the most detailed and personalized instructions, it's still a challenge for some customers.
Too many features. There's a group of customers who like the "one tool for one job" approach. They have apps that need reliable email delivery, and that's it. For our competitors and us, it's a struggle to accommodate such minimalistic needs. Fortunately, a good UX of the app or the docs can do it without sacrificing features.
Bonus: At Coresender, we have an efficient account approval process that helps us eliminate spammers. I'm sure those guys get pretty frustrated 😉
