I love the advice of being useful on the internet - and letting that be how you build an audience. With that in mind, what are some of your favorite way to be useful on the internet? Blogging, IH, Twitter, etc.?
If you had to start over from scratch what would you do?
This is just a personal opinion of mine and not a "growth hack." I don't have a huge following, so take it with a grain of salt.
Instead of focusing on quantity and frequency, focus on quality and usefulness. Not writing regularly is okay, if when you do write your writing is super useful. People tend to blindly follow the advice of regularity and forget about quality.
Try putting yourself in reader's shoes before posting anything. As a reader, I'm investing my precious time by reading your content. You should make sure my investment pays off. It's also essential you know who your ideal reader is, who are you writing this for. Use this as a guide when writing anything.
I think if you do that properly, and consistently, you don't need to worry about growing your audience much. People will come.
That’s an excellent point about the quality being relevant to the audience. As a reader I know exactly what you mean when you say make the reader’s investment worth it. I can definitely tell if an article is written to target an audience like myself or not.
