What are your goals for next year? Want to get some inspo!

Some of mine are: Build new 3 projects, travel more calmly (at least three weeks in one place) and start with a budget excel.

I want to grow up company on this year and learn new technology.
I hope i could say I have made progress next year.

    1. 1

You probably will! Do you currently have the company or plan to build it from 0?

      1. 2

I installed it 2 years ago, but I still have a developing structure. My proficiency level is not satisfactory, thank you for your valuable comment.

        1. 1

          Good luck with it :)

Generate $10k/month from my solopreneur business which is about turning information into processes and processes into products.

    Good luck!

Sounds good! Do you have a landing or something? Good luck!

My goal for 2023 is to finally convince my boss to let me bring my pet flamingo to work as my official office mascot. I think it will really liven up the place.

Would love a pic if you made it.

    Hello!

Started working on my SaaS product the end of 2022, and planning to release it 2023 and start my own business. Achieve my dream and passion. Just joined indiehackers, so you will see more of me and my product in the upcoming months! :)

    1. 2

Awesome! I joined IH on November so I am new too :)
Can't wait to see more of your product!

Hey there! I've got so many big dreams and ideas floating around in my head, but sometimes it can be tough to figure out how to make them happen. That's why I've decided to give this whole "vision board" thing a try for the first time. Yeah, I know it might sound a little bit corny, but I'm always up for trying new things and seeing what works for me.

So, after completed the vision board. I broke it down into smaller tasks and made a plan for taking the first steps towards my dreams. And I'm setting aside a bit of time each day to work on them. At first, it seemed like a total pipe dream, but now I feel like I've got a treasure map to guide me along the way. Here's to hoping it all pays off!

    1. 1

Yesss that happened to me too! I created a spreadsheet and set monthly goals then I divide them for weeks and then days to make it more doable.

I like to think of them as videogame primary and secondary missions!

How did you make the vision board? Any tip?

Sorry for not replying back earlier. :-( I started to work on a template in Notion and have yet not completed it. But I can share it with you as soon it's ready, wanted to really use myself as the test rabbit.

        The template will Include:
Rules, logging, different categories to get more specific, each category will contain habits, and different time horizons for your goals.

If anyone else wants to have as well, feel free to pm me. :-)

I'm aiming for 10K MRR for my SQL query tool in 2023! Currently my MRR is around $800, I'm hopeful that it will be a great year for all founders.

    1. 2

Love the product! As a marketer I'm trying to learn SQL to be more independent when working with data. Will share it with my coworkers!

      Good luck :)

Write lots of interesting content for https://bloduct.com/ 😊

    1. 2

Really like it! Just joined your newsletter :)
After launching www.mapmelon.com I am really interested in learning more about product ideation, creation and design. Ty!

My first goal is to get a good system for time management. I am currently winging pomodoros to get stuff done, but I need to really dive into something proper. Last year flew by and I was left with a bitter taste of slow progress. I won't let that happen again.

    1. 1

It is awesome that you could see it and decide to make a change.
For me it was just trying everything (google tasks, monday, asana, clockify, etc) until I found something that works for me, and I am still changing it a bit every month.
So don't stress and be patient, you'll make it!
If you have any concise issue let me know if I can help :)

I love the goal of staying longer in one place, I used to move a lot, and this year I'm staying in only one place!

My personal goals are improving my surfing and free diving, and professionally I', going to focus on growing mt SaaS (Shoffi) and try make an exit!

    1. 1

That is a though one haha as a DN I found that impossible!
Every city has its lovely thing :)

Surfing and diving? Where are you staying? Sounds amazing!

      Good luck with Shoffi!

      1. 2

        Thanks :)
I stay in Siargao island, Philippines.

        Good luck to you too!

        1. 2

I'll add it to my travel list. Is the connection stable there to work?

          1. 2

If you don't have many meetings.
But I'm working on building a new Coworking space here to fix that :)
            https://cococo.space/

            1. 2

In 2022 I spent 536 hours learning how to code on top of my 9-5 healthcare job. In 2023 I'm committing to outreach to build my website as a service business.

The goal is to achieve $3k MRR building websites for small businesses for a low monthly fee of $100.

    1. 1

      That's impressive!
I like how you analysed everything and made specific goals with metrics.

Good luck with your project :)

  11. 2

I would really like to start a new product this year. I’ve lost all faith after shutting down a previous one that I’ve put 2 years into. But whole year has passed and I really miss that energy that comes from building your own thing. So my plan is to just start a new one. Maybe it will fail, maybe it will fly. But it looks like you cannot stop building after you start 😀

    1. 1

      Totally true!

Building something is like a rollercoaster, some days are amazing and other you just want to give up.

That's why for me it is important to have everything else in my life a bit stable before working in some project. Too much instability makes me anxious!

Let me know if I can help you in anyway with your new idea :)

  12. 2

Release Evoke in early January. My secondary goal is to have at least one short blog post every week for SEO and providing value, since in the AI space, there is still lots of misinfo regarding image generation and text generation AI.

FYI, my project is essentially "AI as a service", where we host AI models on the cloud that users can run through an API. It's mostly for devs making AI apps.

    1. 1

I saw your project around IH and Twitter, looks promising!

I will also work on SEO for my product www.mapmelon.com , I never did SEO before. Do you have any tip?

A lot of luck in your launch and if you need any upvote on PH or help let me know!

      1. 1

Since your product is travel oriented, travel SEO blogs would be great.

Do you travel a lot? The travel SEO space is already pretty jam packed unfortunately, so it's difficult to rank for certain keywords.

My suggestion would be to go for long tail keywords or rare keywords that pertain to travel so you have less competition for your blog.

Or at least cover topics others are lacking.

Make sure to do lots of link building with other blogs or sites, since that helps too.

        1. 1

Thank you for the tips! I will focus on travelling as a digital nomad that stays in colivings, that's my approach so I'll try to rank for more specific words.

Should I add the blog inside the product webpage or is it better if I do it in a different domain and send the traffic there?

          1. 2

A different webpage but same domain.

A new domain would have to rank for SEO all over again.

            1. 1

Makes sense, thank you! A domain or subdomain? blog.mapmelon.com would work?

Publish at least one more season of my podcast, about marketing strategy applied to B2B/SaaS, of 6 episodes or greater.

    1. 2

Cool podcast! Do you have a process for getting on the podcast? I used a pretty unique organic strategy on reddit to grow our product's community before we even launched, and think it would be interesting to discuss.

      1. 1

Sadly there is an abundance of Reddit related marketing guests right now, for some reason :-).

For my podcast, I'm looking at 'traditional marketing actually applied (to SaaS and b2b services)' for the next season.

My suggestion- check out podcasts on listennotes and find some in the SaaS space and just email :D

        1. 1

Thanks for the suggestion! And I guess reddit is a hot new marketing tool now lol.

Never thought it would be that popular. Google and facebook ads seem to be all the rage.

    2. 1

Sounds great! Can you share the link with me?
I am a marketer working on a SaaS so I can't wait to hear it :)

      1. 2

Sure thing! Check out Season 2, all about SaaS marketing: https://open.spotify.com/show/0DMEhi5nGmOoMRJ2B3MOQr

A little ambitious but my goal is growing a business from $0 to $10k MRR in 2023. Having had no experience actually building anything like this.

    1. 2

I see you joined yesterday, welcome to IndieHackers and good luck! :D

      1. 1

Thanks Nate, I’ve been a lurker for many years but decided that if I’m going to take growing a business seriously this year I should join and be active in the community

    2. 1

Awesome! Good luck with the project.

Do you have any idea about what is it going to be?

  15. 2

I want to live more strategically. Improve my chess skill.

    1. 1

Sounds great! Good luck with it.
