What are your opinions about content marketing?

Hello guys,

What do you think about creating content about your industry to build trust for your brand? Is it a good way to bring attention to your brand’s knowledge on the industry or the job you are doing first for possible customers to convert? Or do you prefer paid marketing campaigns?

I know that HubSpot does it very well but does the effort worth for a smaller company or a startup?

I think content marketing is critical. It’s free (if you do it yourself) and the power of SEO is real.

That being said, if someone isn’t a writer or they don’t think they can really be of value in that space, focusing on the product and talking to people about it is a great secondary approach.

I think the real key to content marketing is in the passion for that industry. If you really have it. If you really can give a reader/viewer value - you’ll be fine.

It depends on so many things; your audience (do they go and search on Google when they have a problem; can you easily rank for those keywords?) I've seen a huge number of companies have success with content marketing, and some that failed because the space was too competitive (like the travel industrY).
