Here are a couple books I'm currently reading, with excerpts that might pique your attention.
On Writing Well by William Zinsser
Sell yourself, and your subject will exert its own appeal. Believe in your own identity and your own opinions. Writing is an act of ego, and you might as well admit it. Use its energy to keep yourself going.
Positioning: The Battle for Your Mind by Al Ries
The basic approach of positioning is not to create something new and different, but to manipulate what’s already up there in the mind, to retie the connections that already exist.
Currently, When the Game Was Ours (bio, memoir type deal about the Magic vs. Bird era of NCAA/NBA) and Siddhartha: A Novel for my evening time fiction. Not entirely sure what's next this month!
I get that... I'm not putting as much time into it the past week or so as I'd like to (came off a fire month of reading 7 months in January).
Everybody poops though, which is a great time to squeeze some reading time in (ton of word play potential in there, I'm opting to be an adult for the moment ;)
Oh wow. I read The Cathedral and the baazar way back when I was in high school. Not sure if I'd enjoy it now but I remember how influential it seemed to be in the tech world.
Is it pretty jarringly out of place to read today?
Not that much, seems more like documentary on the history of open source tbh but it was a nice read! Loved the Appendix with the Hacker manifesto and such.
The Distracted Mind by Adam Gazzaley and Larry D Rosen
I'm reading both of these to improve deprocrastination products and my thinking around the subject of the influence of technology on our mind and brain.
Don't make me think! - Steve Krug
This one is great for designing a better user experience
I think I'll reread The 4-Hour Work Week to stay motivated and remind myself why I got started on this journey a few years ago.
The 4-Hour Work Week definitely set my brain on a new track when I read it. Made everything seem really attainable.
Right? Reading it actually changed my mindset for approaching work and life in general.
It's probably why I'm a remote developer and living abroad now tbh.

Positioning: The Battle for Your Mind by Al Ries
The Four: The Hidden DNA of Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google - Scott Galloway
Still on Gladwell's "Talking To Strangers". Will have it finished soon :)
The Mom Test by Rob Fitzpatrick
The Price of Time by Tim Tigner
Reading: 100 Side Hustles
Next: Bad Blood
Reading again:
How to win friends and influence people. (Thought it is a great guide book as I am starting up my second venture)
Atomic habits.
Atomic Habits helped me a lot.
Company of One by Paul Jarvis and Will It Fly? by Pat Flynn. Both extremely relevant!
Just finished How To Build a Car. Currently reading The Undercover Economist.

HBU @rosiesherry?
Jealous of all of you who get to read? 😭

Reading The Cathedral and The Baazar by Eric S Raymond right now. Will then read novels I think the handmaids tale has my attention the most :)

Currently Reading a personal finance book "I will teach you to be Rich" by Ramit Sethi
and started "Start with Why" by Simon Sinek
The Art of Profitability
Made To Stick
Just started reading Own Your Weird by Jason Zook.
How to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan
That one was really interesting, especially considering who the author was.
Mindset: The New Psychology of Success
I recently finished "Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life"
I'm reading both of these to improve deprocrastination products and my thinking around the subject of the influence of technology on our mind and brain.
Just started Crossing the Chasm by Geoffrey Moore!
About halfway through the Mythical Man Month. The first few chapters were great, but the back half is getting denser and more dated with its examples.
The Mom Test - Rob Fitzpatrick
