What Browser do you use?

I use Safari. I hate it, but I love it. I love the bookmark organization, the reader view, and the ability to save articles for offline reading. I also can't live without the persistent tabs that live on all my open windows simultaneously. The best part is I don't need a ton of extensions to achieve any of this

But I hate the inspector. It crashes all the time. Safari also automatically refreshes my pages of its own volition. There are tons of web apps that just don't work on Safari.

I think it's the features in the first paragraph that make it hard for me to leave.

I use Chrome when I need to take screenshots or inspect a website.

Firefox has one nifty feature I use when doing product research, which is the ability to highlight disconnected bits of text all at once. This way I can highlight bits of webpages and take screenshots of them where the most important bits are emphasized.

General browsing: Firefox
Other times: G Chrome, EPIC

I mostly use Firefox for development. I did use Vivaldi for a while but found it too buggy and I couldn't live without the Firefox Multi-container addon.

For mobile I use DuckDuckGo and really like it!

I use Brave too (which is basically Chrome without the tracking). I haven't found a Chrome plugin that doesn't work in Brave yet (it uses the Chrome web store).

I stepped out of the Google ecosystem recently. I was a heavy Chrome User taking all the advantages from different powerful Chrome Extensions. But 2019 I became more and more aware about my data privacy. Therefore I decided to step out of the Google ecosystem. I even wrote a blog post about it.

Currently I am using Firefox as my go-to browser. But somehow Firefox takes up a huge amount of my MacBook Pro's Ram. I came to the conclusion that this only happens with a load of tabs open, and specifically when I have some Youtube Tabs open. So whenever I want to watch Youtube I switch to another browser.

Brave is theoretically a great product. But I am not a big fan of Brendan Eich (founder of Brave) and I do not want to support somebody with a mindset like him.

I am also using the Ungoogled Chromium which is basically Chrome but without all the Google bullsh*t, and in top of that it is stupidly fast. So definitely can recommend Chromium. Biggest plus, with a little hack you can use all the Chrome Extensions also within Chromium.

Daily driver: Ubuntu, Firefox
Business driver: Mac OS, Chrome (because extensions)

Still on Chrome but I’ve been contemplating an alternative that’s outside of Google’s control.
