What community do you launch on first?

There's tons of communities for launching products -- I think the best probably:
-Indie Hackers
-Producy Hunt
-Hacker News
Where would you launch first?
I'm thinking here.. get feedback, then product hunt (because od the rankings) -- with hacker news last because the users tend to be more technical and critical.
Any thoughts? 🚀🥳

I think it depends on the project, target audience, and objective.
Can I ask: What is the goal of the launch? Is it just to get the feedback? Is it to get more traffic? All communities have their own pros, cons, rules and algos. Some are better to get the traffic, some to get the feedback, and etc. I think this requires a clear objective of the launch and defining whether your target audience spends time within that community (if you aim for the traffic).
I think you should define the differences between all of these communities and which one best suits your needs. Also I wouldn't suggest just launching on them all. At least not at the same time. Try to concentrate on one (or two) if you don't have a big team behind your back. Most of the communities are overcrowded with people pushing their projects, so I think you have to spend some time working with the community.

These are great points -- good things to think about.
Some background: I'm past MVP validation and am actually up and running in prod w/ the SaaS. Testing with some friends and small businesses to make sure its working correctly and see what questions they have / what isn't clear.
That being said: In my case -- looking for users who would use the SaaS and get feedback directly from them on how to improve the product so they will continue using it.
I'll have to browse the different groups on IH to see where it would be best suited. I agree with your statement on "not all at once" -- although I'm sure a lot of people lurk across the communities with substantial overlap.

I haven't had success with any of the communities you listed. Usually I buy "cost per click" ads instead.
I was hoping to move to CPC in a few weeks -- want to try and wear out the free channels first.
That being said: "CPC Research" is now on the to-do list.

Yes -- thinking product hunt is later. Testing it w/ users now to see what they think.
Will have to get on the waitlist for BetaPage/BetaList this week haha.
