I'm trying to make a list of the coolest companies to work for that people might not have on top-of-mind when looking for a new job, where the criteria for "cool" is pretty subjective, but could be things like:
making a futuristic tech product, e.g. Relativity (3d printed rockets), Misapplied Sciences (pixels/screens that display different visuals depending on where the viewer is standing)
making interesting social/artistic experiences
putting on amazing events/stunts, like Red Bull
creative ways of benefiting people in need
What are some companies that you think are doing amazing things, and could see yourself working for if money wasn't a criteria? What else do you think could be used as criteria for "cool"?
I love what The Browser Company is doing with Arc! https://thebrowser.company/
Ooh that is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping somebody would reply with. Very cool, I actually signed up to the waitlist.
Hmm, I think it's all subjective and dependent upon what you consider "meaningful". I don't think they need to be hugely innovative or even very impactful, an awful lot of important little things get missed because we're all supposed to "think big". Personally I think urban farming is cool, and an organization that help run urban farms across the city in empty/blighted spaces would be pretty high on my list of "cool".
