I've always been curious about how everyone manages their time to build stuff while making a living. What do you vaguely do in your day (full-time) job and how many hours do you spend a week trying to get your product off the ground on the side?
To start it off I manage a few teams of brilliant software engineers working on an e-commerce offering and this has allowed me to cross-learn tech stuff for my job and my own side projects which has worked out quite nicely! Sadly I am only able to spare about 2 hours a day working on my projects so I try to plan my TODO list carefully on my commute and hit the ground running when I'm home!
You might also want to share your product / idea and how far you've gotten with it while juggling your job? :)
** I'm building a community site (https://angrypros.com) for sharing work stories so would love to reach out to each one of you to learn more about your jobs as well!
This is a really relatable question — balancing a full-time job with building side projects is basically the default indie hacker reality. The 2-hours-a-day constraint actually forces better prioritization, which is often a hidden advantage.
Do you find commuting planning or evening execution more effective for staying consistent?
Interesting setup — especially how you’re using your day job as a learning loop for your own projects. That overlap between work + side projects is usually where the fastest skill growth happens.
Curious what your current side project stack looks like and how you’re deciding what to prioritize with limited time?
