What did you launch in January?

Hey everyone,

I know a lot of us are doing the 12 Startups in 12 Months challenge. I would love to know what did you built or ship in January?

For me, I shipped an informational product called LearningInTech Kit & made it pay-what-you-want.

What about you?

  1. 4

I've launched the best party game ever: www.locospartygame.net

  2. 3

I've launched Preactive: dead simple quote sharing (Medium-style) for any website or blog.

    https://preactive.chat/

    1. 2

That's pretty cool! Honestly never knew that was a feature on Medium but now I have all kinds of ideas for little embeds like that.

      1. 1

        Thanks!

I've got a few extensions to this idea up my sleeve, but wanted to throw the MVP out there asap so I can start gathering feedback

I've found developing the MVP very fun too, creating snippets like this is a really interesting development experience

    2. 1

That seems like a great tool, especially for writers. Congratulations on the launch!

  3. 3

I shipped that latest iteration of JustFitness.io.
    Trello for working out.

    1. 1

Congrats on shipping. Your product's dashboard looks good!

    2. 1

Well done! Would love to hear more about your process to get this off the ground

  4. 3

    I just built https://www.fourdayweek.io/

Software jobs with a better work / life balance. All jobs are capped at a maximum of 4 days per week

    1. 1

This is awesome, signing up 🤙

      1. 1

        Thanks, appreciated!

  5. 3

LearningInTech Kit looks great! I launched the beta tester signup for my very first product ever! https://www.getgroupbuy.com/

    1. 1

Congratulations on your first ever launch. Your product seems nice, however I would suggest you to make your landing page more better. All the best !

      1. 1

Did you have any actual specific constructive feedback you could share?

        1. 1

Sure, I will keep it short and concise for you.

          1. On first glance, Your text copy doesn't tell much information. You should add a headline which describes what is groupbuy about.
          2. The demo button doesn't seem to do any action. What is it for?
          3. It would appear better if you place those 4 icons with text, horizontally rather vertically. (those above the More faqs button).

          Hope that helps!

We launched a service which makes it easy for businesses to find and respond to requests from journalists with the goal of getting media coverage in print, on radio or perhaps TV.

Called Dot Star Media and we went live on Jan 15th: https://dotstar.media

    1. 1

Interesting service! Congratulations on the launch.

    1. 1

Looks great. How do you plan to market it?

      1. 2

My business partner has a lot of connections in the industry so we are reaching out to them first. When he has exhausted that avenue we will use the revenue to play around with ads and look at other ways of generating leads.

  7. 2

I built & shipped ViTAL a web service to help remote teams build a social connection again.

My no. 1 learning is build before week 3, so there is more room for pre and post launch stuff.

If you are interest in my first PH launch, you can read about it here on IH

  8. 2

I haven't heard about this challenge, I launched a side project, Techyletters.io a tech Newsletter Directory.

    1. 1

Your newsletter directory seems great! I just added my newsletter to it.

  9. 2

I just rolled out the free Building in Public Definite Guide :) Took me 2 months and 10,000 words! I'm glad it is finally out.

    1. 2

Your guide seems thorough and informative! Congratulations on the launch. I will check it out as well.

  10. 2

I launched Tappy👈: a Clubhouse for remote teams. When people need to talk, our drop-in audio lets them spark a conversation with a single click.

Surprisingly, National Bureau of Economic Research data months into the pandemic shows that teams tried to bridge the distance by sending more emails—but that didn’t last.
Instead, there’s a now desire to talk more frequently for less time:
Teams are meeting 13% more often, for 20% less time.

That’s a step in the direction of the more fluid conversation, but we’re not there yet: the average meeting is still 48 minutes long.

We’ve been inspired by the growth of remote work, but at the same time, we’ve also seen teams struggling with lack of communication, delays in productivity, and isolation. We think that a real-time, frictionless connection can solve the problem.

Zoom fatigue is real. Video calls make everyone feel the way people on TV feel every slouchy, every mumble, every interruption is magnified. Drop-in audio talk lets remote teams spark a conversation with a single click.

    1. 1

Tappy looks like a real good solution for remote teams and I like how you are actually solving a problem. Congratulations on the launch!

  11. 2

I've launched https://ecommframe.com. It is a digital product that brings together all the best tools and services essential for marketers working in eCommerce or shop owner.

    1. 1

Congratulations on the launch. Any sales so far? How did you validate the idea?

      1. 2

Hey @vd ! Yes but not much. Distribution is the tuff part. I validated the idea thanks to the clients I help in their growth. Each time they're struggling to find the right tool for their business.

        1. 1

Indeed, distribution is tough but because your clients helped you to validate it, maybe that can give you some idea on where to start from.

  12. 2

In January I finished and launched my side project https://mysite.gg, a website builder for creators and influencers, this month I'm planning to promote it!

    1. 1

Your product looks awesome. All the best for marketing it!

  13. 2

I just soft launch my website https://www.logname.dev - A portfolio/resume website for developers.

    1. 1

      Congratulations on the launch!

  14. 2

I launched CrowdMagnet on Jan 5th. It's a marketplace where newsletter creators can find/connect with each so they can cross promote and grow their audiences. Have 31 members so far. https://www.getcrowdmagnet.com

    1. 2

Cool idea! i'm curious, how are you planning to monetize?

      1. 1

Not sure, I'm trying to build an audience of newsletter creators and help them out. I'm thinking of building other paid products that would be useful for newsletter creators, but I really just want CrowdMagnet to be a free place where anyone can go to make connections.

  15. 1

    JoraHub https://jorahub.com/
launched in January. It's a Java Platform-as-a-Service targeting developers, helping them focus on coding applications and forget about operating them.

    1. 1

Jorahub looks great. Congratulations on the launch!

  16. 1

I launched statsout.com in the first week of January. I only wrote about it on IH for now because I want to add more integrations before I really start marketing it.

It got a couple hundred visits but so far no customers.

    1. 1

Statsout seems like a nifty tool. Besides your target audience, I think social media managers can really benefit from it.

  17. 1

Hey! Not exactly doing 12 startups in 12 months, but definitely creating more products.

In January, I launched my first ever info product. It ended up making $8000 in 8 days!

I wrote an extensive blog post covering my journey (which began 8 months ago) and what lead up to this moment.

    Cheers ✌️

    1. 1

8k in 8 days is a big achievement. Congratulations on that!

Do you plan to build more products or work on marketing your informational product?

      1. 2

Thank you! My current plan is to build marketing funnels around the product, and also improve the course and launch a v2 based on all the feedback I've received so far.

But I would love to build another product in 2-3 months :D

  18. 1

I played around with form tracking analytics idea for a while at the end of 2020. And I spent exactly entire January 2021 coding and launching formtraq.com

    1. 2

      Congratulations on the launch, friend.

  19. 1

Shipped a few cool features for the personal CRM app I'm working on!

    • The ability to detect duplicates and merge them
    • The ability to edit table columns for all of our table views
    • Shift-click support to select multiple items
    • A much better mobile-web UI

and a toooon of bug fixes and UX improvements.

Honestly feels really great looking back at my changelog and seeing how much I did in January 👏

    1. 1

That seems like comprehensive tool you are building. What time do you plan to launch it?

      1. 1

        Oh it’s already launched!

        https://mogulnetworking.com/

These were just some of the things I shipped in January for it :)

        1. 1

I love the aesthetics in Mogul. Seems like you had a productivity-full month of Jan!

  20. 1

Nice one dude. I'm gonna look into it. Many signups? What are you working on for Feb?

My first physics based mobile game:
    youtube trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpNEDHtbOJU

    Play store:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Shoneyscoffee.Slingshotting

    1. 2

Since I made LearningInTech Kit public, I am actually getting high impressions but very few actual sales. Because it's pay-what-you-want, only one of them has bought it for a price.

Not sure about what to build this February but I will ship something.

Your game looks great. I was looking for an android game & would definitely give it a shot. Congratulations on shipping!

Looks good. You should promote it among your audience and see what they think about it. Maybe that will help!
