What do I do while validating my MVP.

So I just finished my MVP on the 21st for my website https://ideavault.dev and I am wondering what am I supposed to be doing right now? I spent the day yesterday dropping a link to the website in a couple of places and got a bit of feedback from 2 people. I got a couple of new users with no payment. Should I continue working on the website before it is completely validated or should I only be doing major bug fixes while marketing my MVP? I have a list of features I want to add but I am just not sure if my time is better spent actively seeking validation. Also, what should I take as validation?

    Goal is to learn.

    The best way to learn is to get paying customers, if you can't do that then free customers, if you can't do that then customer interviews.

    Ideally you would have had customer interviews before building a product, but that the second best time is now. So find people who are having this problem and start speaking to them.

    I would work on your landing page, first impressions count.

    Also put your the actually app on app.ideavault.dev and have the marketing site at ideavault.dev, will make your life a lot easier.

      Do you have any feedback on the "landing page"? Also, I am not really going to have a marketing site. I kinda like simple. The website is what it is. Although I think I might put the pricing model on the "landing page". It is a pay what you want kind of thing. Maybe that will increase account creation. Anyways thank you for your input.

        A landing page will increase conversions and build trust, not having one is wasting all of your other efforts.

        As a developer you can get a free one at https://cruip.com/ and then host it on Netlify easily.

        When it comes to that block of text, no one will read it.

              The past 4.5 years I was building NextWave Hire (https://nextwavehire.com). And now that it's running well and profitably, I'm working on building a portfolio of other products that are a result of my experience working with NextWave Hire customers, teammates and also just passion projects.

              I'll actually be launching 2 of them soon but I'm working on the landing page and I'm hoping to get some unbiased feedback once I do that. Haha...so I'm being deliberately quiet on those two products right now, because I want a fresh set of eyes with no prior context for the best kind of feedback.

    When I go to your site, all I see is text describing your story, and sign in buttons.

    I like the text you put in there, that's personal. But, as a general rule, I'm not going to sign in just to see what an app looks like. Could you add some screenshots, or a small video, showing how it works?

    To answer your question specifically, if I were you, I would prioritise validation. That means pointing users to your web app and increasing the appeal of the homepage/landing page so people that get there actually want to do the extra step of singing in. That also means making sure you can quickly get a picture about user activity. Do you have one place where you can, at a glance, work out how many new people have logged in on a given day + tracking for the value metrics of your web app? Whether it is adding an idea, or sorting them, or whatever else you consider a basic core feature that an engaged user would use.

    I'm not super knowledgeable about getting feedback - it's not my strong point - so others will have more ideas than I do.

    For your kind of web app, you need some long term feedback, not just feedback from users who have used the web app for 10 minutes, as the benefit of your product is long term. Therefore, considering most users will probably just check it out once, right now, I would focus on driving up the number of users logging in to use your web app at least once.

    If you feel you have built your MVP and think truly it has achieved the minimum amount of features for a user to gain value and solve a pain point, the next thing you need to do is drive awareness to it to confirm market fit.

    As was said already you would want to work on your landing page to make traffic want to try it out more and then really work digital marketing, work communities, social media, etc to try and get more traffic to your site to see if you nailed the market fit. If not, just means time to iterate.

    If you still have a list to do that you feel needs to be there truly for a user to gain value from your offering, then work on those.
