What do other Indie Hackers think your product is based on your landing page?

Awesome landing page! Layout is clean, good colours, plenty of whitespace and beautiful illustrations.

I think one thing that can be improved is the subheading-
"Often times onboarding new hires and customers can be rather unorganized and leaving them feeling overwhelmed, especially with documents all over."

Can this be said in less words/clearer? I'm not a marketer but maybe something like:

"Onboarding new hires and customers is often unorganised and leaves people feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. We just fixed that."

What do you think?

Neat and tidy. I feel like I have an idea of what the product is, but reaching to bottom of the page here's a few questions that I'm left with:

• Is UpDocs a place to store existing onboarding documentation. i.e. you upload stuff and then UpDocs can present them via a browser?
• Is it more like a knowledge base, where you create format and/or categorise content via UpDocs?
• What does UpDocs do differently than traditional wikis or knowledge base software, that makes it a better fit for onboarding specifically?

On boarding documentation for new employees. This is so useful.

Side note on one experience I had that might work or might not for this product.

This employer had an topic/responsible "matrix" (it was an excel) where you had one topic in one column and who to contact in the other.

For instance (let's say it's for a developer joining a financial institution ) :

• Create your corporate account: HR John Smith js@mail.com +555555555
• Network access: Talk to Andrew from IT
• Repository structure: Check with Team Lead / development team. wiki: lalalal
• Concepts - Loans: Jack Miller, jm@mail + 5555 wikipage: blablabal
• Concepts - Investments Jack Miller / Steve Something, jm@mail ss@mail, +555
• App Modules - XYZ: Julie Stevenon, js@mail ,+555 wiki: applalala

Etc. etc. so instead of just a bunch of documents to read it was like a path / bingo to track your progress and know when you were ready to start working. You had to go and talk with these people first ( the links for the doc where there too so you can reference them back). Also it was a costume the last hire had to update the doc with any changes that have happened, like "Oh yes, we used to use Mercurial but we moved to Subversion because blah blah"

This was a rather small team btw.

I get the idea of onboarding. I associate it more with jobs than with customers, but I've heard it in both.

I found it a little confusing that the site is supposed to solve the problem for both customers and new employees.

The new employees part appeals to me much more than new customers. I would never want to build a product that requires me to onboard my customers with so much reading homework that I need to send them to a whole separate site. But I could see it for new employees because there's lots to learn at a new job.

Love the design - did you do all the illustrations yourself?
I thought the messaging was quite clear in that I would know enough to sign-up and have a play-around if the product was available

Nice idea for a service, and I really like the design! Some suggestions, though they feel like nitpicking :)

• The smaller text in the purple area "Create your store and start selling in a matter of minutes!" is more or less repeated just below. This ads a bit of noise IMO.
• Links to terms and helpdesk could be stubs instead of going to the main page.
• How are you going to get away with 0 transaction fees. Stripe will charge you, right?

Cool project! Can I sell products that are physical? Say a mug or t-shirt along with digital products? Do you handle subscriptions?

Really like the design, I saw it earlier on IH and have used it for inspiration :)

Explainer video is being made right now

I did that too, and then removed it. Video's are a pain to maintain and apparently (there was a thread about it on IH) many ppl prefer reading over video's. On the other hand, I very much like the animations next to the explanatory text that you have.

Actually, I was just checking some sites for inspiration, including yours, and now it struck me that although that big screenshot is nice to show what your app looks like, it is rather blurry. I suspect this is intentional, but I think you should make it smaller to avoid the blurry look.

Super curious since I'm so bad a social media, but does re-posting the same content actually work?

I find it quite annoying when I see some companies repeatedly posting the same content and I have always wondered why. I mean it makes sense to try reach those people who are not very active or have high # of following, but I don't have that many and seeing same content over and over is not fun. I would hope Twitter would remove some of that duplication in their timeline algo, but when it is a tweet by someone I follow, they tend to show them as-is in real time, at least for me.

Would you say that for companies with large followings, repeatedly posting same content is more of norm than an exception? Individual people with large followings do not seem to be doing this.

Very nice idea! The "recent entries" seems to suggest that whatever you post will be public, but that would be a bit odd, is it? The layout is well-structured, but for the colors IMHO you could go for a more unified palette (e.g. the cyan and purple buttons).

Nice! So, it's like a twitter feed where you post what was done. Is there a reason why you can't post without creating an account? (just curious on the decision) Btw, I tried to use the full email as username and got an error message "Invalid username" but didn't know why, so, the "@" is not allowed.

Also (also curious, not really related to your page) how do you handle spam? Someone creates an account to publicize pills, or something.

Cool idea, at first I was wondering if these updates were embedded somewhere but I see that they're hosted on your site. Which is cool! It would be cool if you offered a plugin for slack or something like that(pro feature)!

The landing page is great in terms of design (I am not a designer though). I was a bit confused about what the service offers. Seems to be social media management, but the how-does-it work page suggests there's also graphics design involved. The images seem to load real slow.

Hey! Cool product - you help manage postings, applicants, interviews, and hiring(all in one place).

My only feedback for the website goes to the footer, in my opinion, it looks a little odd without padding under the subheaders.

• I think using different color for the text would improve readability. For instance black for the titles and gray for the explanation.

• The "Get started" button could stand by it self and the "30 day trail" could be in a separate line.

• The tiles in the "how it works" section" are not very clear.

• I get that your app color scheme is very simple, but your demo turns out to have a lot of color, which is rather cool, why don't you use it as a hero image in the first section.

Here's is something I did really quick with VisBug applying these adjustments (disclaimer, I'm not an designer at all, I'm just kind of repeating what I've been reading in the past weeks)

I'm noticing this behavior a lot recently. I wonder why it is happening.

It's an app that would have been useful back in highschool when I used to carry around a book for logging my weight lifting progress. I don't log anymore, but this seems like it'd be useful if I ever start up again.

It's an app that makes it really easy to log/make notes on your workout progress. I like the simple premise: take something simple and make that thing as easy as possible. I also like the clean design and simple use of color.

The text in the orange background is a bit small, making it hard to read.

If I click "start tracking now", nothing happens (Firefox).

It's a DIY kit to build a "Digital Controlled Mic Preamplifier" :) very clear

I can't explain why but I missed the price and the cta that are very visible in the first page.

I was scrolling and thinking "...ok yeah, how much?" So I had to scroll up once to see the price and then again to see for the CTA.

Maybe put the price at the right of the picture (like amazon does) and then repeat it at the bottom would help?

That way your eyes would read from left to right, would see two columns the first has the item and the second the price.

Hey I don't know if this is the same landing page, but looks similar. Did you have the model name in the nav bar before? If yes, this version is significantly better. Clear pricing and CTA. I love the features section. Good job either way.

I would recommend adding CTA button to the bottom of the page also to make it easy for mobile user to find it, in case they scroll to the bottom.

I think your site looks great. No issues with design from my standpoint. To be honest, I have zero knowledge about your product and its real-world uses, so I am lost but your site did help me understand a bit.

Looks great! Maybe just change the color of the blue links at the footer. When you hover over it, it disappears.

Is salesmapper designed for outside sales? I could see this having impact on door to door or traveling sales.

I think your landing page be improved to look more appealing. The images looks have visible pixels from the editing. That's probably why a lot of people use illustrations from undraw.co, also a picture of the actual app would be helpful (or from an email from the app)

For the main page you can use different font sizes for the text in the main page. There's lot of sites that talk about these topics that I first I thought they were impossible to grasp but they turn out to be very simple. For instance https://refactoringui.com/ has a bunch of tips that are very easy to understand. Of course you can't just become a professional designer overnight but at least there are some thing that are very easy to implement.

Finally there's a wall of text with on with all the features and installation instructions that could be too cumbersome for a lot of users.

Is it a public facing portal where end users can search for answers to for products they bought from your clients?

I know you're in beta but there are a few pages that are accessible from the main page that are 404 ( like terms) probably would be better to hide them until they're ready and have a separate domain (like beta.eondesk.com)

Looking good! You are building a knowledge base tool for support teams?

So, it's kind of standup meeting status site, where I can say what I did recently what's up next and some problems I might be facing.

From the page I can't tell though how is the pulse measured (social etc)? By number of people / statuses? How many pulses can I my team members post per... day?

From an employee perspective it doesn't sound very appealing that "Now I have to post my pulse" in addition to doing my work.

I think the concept is great, I see a lot of value specially for instances in retrospectives where none remembers what when well or wrong about something but this would help to see and remember what happened in the last "X" days. Also, some team members are less prone to "speak out / post" where others might love spamming the status with all the things they're doing ("Got a coffee, I just had a meal, etc" ) What do you think about these?

Your website is nice and the name really fits the product, how did you come up with the name?

Is TribePulse an employee/team task manager? If so, it looks great.

The full-page video in the background is captivating. It also clearly explain WHY I'd wanna use it, but it does not explain WHAT it does. I'm assuming it's a video editing app with some unique features. Would be great if you could highlight the features that distinguish it from other video editing tools. On small screens some elements on the page start to overlap.
