I'm a software developer that's really passionate about the podcast space. I don't want to make a podcast, I want to make a software solution that would make life for podcasters much better. I listen to at least a podcast a day and I learn a lot from them but I don't think I can see what they need. the Ad space in podcasts is growing, that could be interesting, there are already a lot of statistical providers so not really interested in that, and not really interested in the audio software side either, not sure what else podcasters or podcasts would need from a software standpoint. I'm asking for a second pair of eyes or suggestions from you! Thanks!
I tried making something like this a few years ago -- I might revisit it again because I have a full MVP setup, but wasn't ready to commit to making it real. My solution was a platform for podcasters and podcast listeners that improved on the already existing ones (focusing on community and discoverability). The first bit of feedback that I received was that podcasters didn't want yet another service to try and monitor. If you can get around that, you should be golden.
Thanks for the suggestions, and yeah you’re right, don’t want to make MORE work for podcasters but something that makes their life easier
Ads, stats and hosting are probably the first things that come to mind.
