To start with theory, Euler's circles are a diagram that shows the relationship between two or more subsets. You can use any shapes for this, but usually the relationship is shown using circles.
In marketing, it is convenient to use Euler circles in order to:
✅ find connections between concepts that are far from each other at first glance and build an advertising campaign based on this knowledge;
✅ check if the product is suitable for the strategy according to which you plan to promote it;
✅ analyze competitors' advertisements;
✅ work out the identity, Tone of Voice, brand book.
I'll show you several different types of relationships that you can use to promote your product.
⭐️ Method 1 - equivalence. You can clearly associate your product with the industry it belongs to. What do you think about when you hear the word "fast food"? Probably Mcdonald's, KFC or Burger king. Think about which slogans, images or visual solutions will allow you to create in the minds of users a strong direct connection between your brand and what niche it occupies.
⭐️ Method 2 - submission. From all the messages of the brand, single out one important message and tell about it. This will be your main, but not the only USP. For example, many cosmetic brands do not test their products on animals. But the brand that will add value (for example, it will produce packaging from recycled plastic) will stand out with this advantage from the rest of the ethical cosmetics.
⭐️ Method 3 - subordination. Show how your product can and should be used for non-obvious purposes. For example, manufacturers of sunscreen rarely say that it is necessary not only in summer in hot weather, but also in the northern regions, because it is not the air temperature that matters, but the ultraviolet index.
⭐️ Method 4 - crossing. Think about what your product and its target audience have in common? Dogs, like humans, need healthy teeth, which is why the dog food maker has released tooth brushing sticks. The owners buy them for their pets if they want them to be free of caries.
Try to come up with a slogan for your product using Euler circles. At the very least, it can be fun, but at the most, it will give you a fresh look at your product and its positioning 😊
