What do you miss on Trello?

Looks like IH community loves Trello. It's simple, intuitive, integrated and most of all gets you organized. Do you miss anything in Trello?

    • Once you have several boards, it's easy to get lost in the various DOING lists (i.e. the list with cards you're currently working on). Trello needs the ability to create virtual/meta lists that hold cards that already exist in other lists. This would make it possible for users to better manage multiple DOING lists. Heck, they could add the feature as a power-up and I would still be glad.

    • Longer card descriptions. I don't get the arbitrary text length and it becomes problematic when you are doing extensive note-taking or documentation.

    • Better typography for card descriptions, especially for headings.

    • Overall better card description editor than the markdown oriented one they currently use. I would like to seamlessly be able to embed images, videos and what not.

Hi @amin, I created placker.com which does do your first point, see also this help center article that describes how to combine boards into one (in Placker):

      https://help.placker.com/getting-started/boards/how-can-i-combine-multiple-trello-boards-into-one

Feel free to check it out and let me know how this works for you.

The next iteration will improve a number of things on the combined view like better sorting and filtering, I'd be interested in hearing your feedback.

Chats! That’s why we created https://www.teleo.co
Basically we bring chat and tasks together in one place so that we can collaborate on projects easily and seamlessly.

The ability to create full featured "notes" instead of "lists"

An easy way to integrate pomodoros and generate analytics for them.

Hi @soueuls , any analytics that you would be most interested in? Are you already using one of the plugins/power-ups for pomodoro?

Simple analytics, just a graphical view of what took the most time to complete, so I can accurately predict my weekly throughput.

I am not aware of any pomodoro power-ups for Trello

I did find a few when searching for pomodoro + trello, in placker we do track time between when cards are in the started list to the completed list to show this in the gantt but I'm always looking for more ways to visualize this.

Making a symlink cards in your personal board from a team board! Basically I want to create a Job board where I can track progress of all my work related boards.

That's brilliant, thanks for reaching out πŸ˜€

Something that I really miss is a feature that Favro ( A similar product that now is more targeted to enterprise users) has, which is the ability to have several boards on the same workspace!

You might like to check Placker.com (disclosure: I created it), which allows you to manage multiple boards into one view in Placker.

It also allows you to create card mirrors between boards and show different layouts, like show the cards listed by member or split your board by assigned member instead of the original layout.

I would be interested to hear how it works out for you!
