What do you need help with right now?

At the beginning of every month indie hackers share their monthly goals with each other. Now let's discuss the challenges we're all facing to reach those goals!

What do you need help with?

What help/advice/service can you offer others?

Please reply to someone else and help them out — especially if you've requested help yourself!

What do you need help with?
Could use some advice for marketing, Facebook ads, influencer marketing.

What help/advice/service can you offer others?
    Software engineering guidance.

What do you need help with?

I mostly need help with sales. It's not my forte and I never know whether to improve my skills in the field or partner up with someone else. My ideas and projects are very niche, so it's not easy to align interests with a sales person.

What help/advice/service can you offer others?

I can code, and I can work very hard if I get involved in a project I believe in, but that's the hard part.

You will have to learn sales or find a co-founder. Hiring these services rarely work out unless you have proven the model out before.

I was able to learn sales quickly and get open rates much better than the industry standard. As a developer you can find ways to get leads that sales people will never think of.

Also I have spoke with many founders who handed it off to a sales person early and they got 0 results, big waste of time and leads.

      1. 2

Yes, that's what I thought based on my previous experience. I just find it difficult to spend time learning sales because I prefer so much more to spend it coding or learning new tech.

Can i ask you how you learnt sales?

I read predictable revenue and then a bunch of blogs for tactics when it comes to cold email.

Never did cold calls but would do the same for that, find blogs and read them. Tactics get outdated quickly and you got to stay up to date with them.

The same way packages get outdated in coding :)

Finding recruiters to talk to about jobboard.best - to do some customer research before I build anything! It's difficult to figure out where they hang out online.

Happy to help with any questions about building without code!

    1. 1

You can always contact recruiters individually on LinkedIn

      1. 2

LinkedIn actually only gives you a couple opportunities to message people you aren't connected with. So I'd have to connect with every recruiter I want to talk to and then message them after being connected.

Finding/choosing a small business idea (software). Preferably something small enough that it's possible to get to MVP in a few months.

    1. 1

Perhaps start with the audience you want to build for. Try to get in front of them first and then think about an idea that will solve their problems.

      1. 1

Hehe, just read similar advice. That just shifts the problem, though, because I have no idea what audience I'd like to build something for.

        1. 1

Lol heard! I figure in the end it's about the people (customers). I think it might be the better route?

          1. 1

True. In the end it's all about the people.

If you are willing to partner up, there are some good ideas in https://findcollabs.com/

What do you need help with?

Working on Growthhacklist and added some features. Not sure right now what aspects to focus on

Would love to hear your feedback!

What do you need help with?
I'm going to apply to YC w2020 with a new startus that's pretty much in idea stage right now. Any YC alumns that can I chat via pm? Tweet @parasharanmol

if you've got a podcast, we'd love to help with post-production stuff.

Yesterday i have posted similar topic about --> https://www.indiehackers.com/post/4a5ac93b5b

I need help in testing and validating our idea.
We could help indie maker in marketing and developer process

I have seen many ideas like this, they never work. The chicken and egg problem is too hard to solve.

Have a look at https://feedbackswap.com/, if I can think of anymore I will link. I see 2+ on IH every month.

Things I can think of to help it succeed:

      • Niched
      • Monetizable
      • Can go viral (lowers cost to acquire customers)

I think I have a solution to the problem for a certain niche. But haven't thought about it fully to start discussing it.

I'm trying to find a tech co-founder for my social impact company that is changing animals' lives (and helping people as well). If you're into tech for good or pet tech, let's chat.

Also, I haven't been able to add my photo here @channingallen despite trying more than a dozen times. Thanks!

Planning to start a meetup for no-code and automation and want to make sure it's going to be valuable for others. I need help with ideas on what to do at these meetups other than just connect. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

    1. 2

Show and tell? Get people in to show off things they've made without code?

      1. 1

Yeah for sure - love this! Thank you

    2. 2

Might be worth setting up different themed night, so one night might be making a basic SaaS App or a marketplace

Have a look at https://www.makerpad.co/tutorials for inspiration :)

      1. 1

Ah that’s a cool idea. Yes love makerpad! Thanks for the idea

What do you need help with?
Need help how to recruit users to my upcoming product. Basically I am making a new advanced/AI powered digital wallet for loyalty/gift cards.

What help/advice/service can you offer others?
I can help others with design feedback.

    1. 1

Can you explain the idea a little more :)

      1. 1

It's hard to explain in a short message, because it's only one small piece of my big puzzle. However, digital wallet like every other, but smarter. :)

Can share beta first rather soon so if interested more than happy to share to hear some feedback. :)

        1. 3

Don't take this personally, but if you are not able to explain the idea to people succinctly and why they need it you will struggle to get people to sign up for your product. Let's hear your best pitch.

          1. 1

            Here is just one tagline:
Loyalty cards - on demand. Save existing cards or get a new one within a click.

            1. 1

My feedback is that the pitch does not address "why" I would need your product. For me, I'm not looking to get more loyalty cards and I'm not sure why I would want to "save existing cards".

              Hope that helps.

              1. 1

Gotcha. It helps. This kind of feedback is always useful. The constructive one. Would love to hear more of this once I have ready product. :)
