What do you think?

Is anyone here into Esports or things going on in the Gaming Industry?

I'm relatively active in the Esports and Gaming side of things. I have been paying attention to what going on on the competitive level as well as the careers in Esports.

I have been noticing a lot of blind spots in the American market and I thought about possibly building something to del with some of the issues.

I was looking at local scoreboards for the localized part of Esports. Since of of these players also want to be on pro teams.

I also looked at the career side of Esports and gaming since there are people who want to get into it but don't know how. Maybe advice is in order or better data management for those looking to partner with teams and companies in the space.

I think that if you wanna get into Esports and its market, you should know a thing or two about the commercial side of it. Item trading is a big part of games like CS:GO, Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Rust, and so on. DMarket is a good example of such marketplaces: https://dmarket.com/csgo-skins/product-card/ak-47-fire-serpent You see, people who play those games can actually sell them for real money. This seems pretty cool for me.

    Hi!
Yes, I'm still into gaming, currently, I'm playing a bit of CS:GO and LoL, my favorite team on the pro scene is VP: https://fragstore.com/teams-en/virtus.pro/
Considering your question: there's so much to learn about esports, gaming, and that market in general, so you'd want to check lots of resources. There's always something new and everything's constantly changing, so you'd want to keep close attention to what's going on. I've been interested in videogames for decades, but I still can barely predict anything new - that's what amuses me the most about it.
    Anyway, I wish you luck!

As a someone who is not into the esports (left gaming 10 years ago), but thinking that esports is going to be huge - I’m really curious about your insights.

Thanks for commenting. Esports is growing but there are so many different areas. Local Esports and then what pipelines will look like for grade school to college for Esports players and teams.

I'm heavily involved in different sides of it and at least for the American Market. It has a long way to go. Don't get me started on mobile Esports side of things...

I think it would be an interesting project. I am very much into the monetization of Esports and streamers. I might start there.

If I want to start researching and digging deeper into this industry - what are some of the best resources I should go to first?

From a big corporate Startup point of view which also documents what it is going on in gaming in general: The business of Esports is a good resource.

If you are looking to a more global but still Big corporate Esports point of view then Esports Insider

These are just the best all in one but other markets are not covered by these sites.

It's a lot but you might find somethings there.
