What do you think about Cross-promotion

I was wondering if you are/have been using cross-promotion successfully for you product (i.e. "Share for Share", mention each other's products in Newsletter, etc.)
What are your Learnings or your Thoughts when it comes to Cross-Promotion?
To me, it seems like a good marketing strategy if you find a good fit with the "other side"

Cross-promotion can be really helpful and it does work. Fit is everything, so make sure you do your due diligence.
What are you looking for when doing your Due Diligence?
Alignment, core values, win/win mentality, solid reputation, integrity and honesty.
Also, I won’t help promote anything that I don’t believe in; I expect the same.
