What do you think about my personal website?

I recently redesigned my personal website from https://awadieudonne.vercel.app/ to now https://awacreates.com/. The tech stack is: Typescript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, MongoDB

The website is where I advertise my skills and create content that would help beginners and intermediate developers solve what would seem to be complicated.

Both designs seem good but I would love to get your feedback on the new one: https://awacreates.com/.

I would appreciate feedback about the domain name, site theme, typography, page structures, performance, and more...

Thanks, guys!

    Hey Awa,

For some reason I kept reading awacreates as awscreates. Guess you can't do anything about that since its your name.

The word "Free" in "Awa Creates offers a good number of high quality Free tutorials, articles and answers to questions on a wide range of topics. Subscribe to our newsletter to get the latest updates." feels like a link.

Its a little weird that you start with "Learn Full-stack development" but then immediately transition to a list of products not related to learning development.

The theme and typography and performance feel good.

I read your about page, do you have any tips for getting your first contract on Upwork? I'm struggling with that, I think its because I don't have existing reviews.

      Hey @moralwil

Thanks for the feedback. And I appreciate that you took the time to leave a feedback.

You're very correct about the word "Free" in the description. I am only realizing after your feedback that it feels like a link. Do you think turning it into an on-page link that links to the "FEATURED TUTORIALS" make sense?

About the hero texts, I will rewrite them in a better way.
In addition to that, I will also ensure the section on "FEATURED TUTORIALS" comes first so it's not too wired. Let me know if you think that sounds better.

Thanks for the feedback about the theme, typography, and performance. I will always lookout for ways to make them look even better as well.

And as for tips on how to land your first contract on Upwork, this is something I noticed after being on the platform for the past 4yrs.

      1. I tend to receive more job invitations when I am online.
      2. I made sure my description is as professional as possible.
      3. Each time I am invited to a job, I make sure my cover letter is short and straight to the point. Usually, I indicated my interest and a short description of my skills and experience
      4. If a client invites me to a job and later stops responding, I would send a message about a day after asking about updates with regard to the hiring for the job.

In essence, the most powerful tip you should take seriously is to stay online. Seems like their search engine ranks freelancers that are online higher.
