What do you think is the most effective platform for your growth?

IH is great, I got a lot of my early subscribers from IH, but also good ‘ol cold outreach also did well for me, and that’s kinda how I started created word of mouth for my newsletter.
For perspective, I sent my first issue out 10 weeks ago to 31 subscribers, last week Friday I sent out to 657.
IH is a very nice platform to promote product but I don't think it has a big audience enough.
Indiehackers, I get around 40% of traffic and subscribers from this platform. Another is reddit.
Are you constantly getting this traffic? if so teach us too :)
When I push some content, definitely I get a few jumps but its hard to keep up the pace specially without making it look like a self promotion. Like once I commented about my newsletter in a subreddit and got 20+ subscribers in the next few hours. Also when I am sharing relevant content, I get a few subcribers from reddit and IH.
You need to be persistent, create valuable content, may be use some simple SEO techniques. Also twitter is another great platform. I share products on my newsletter and tag those accounts on twitter to get a few more visits :D

Why not posting in all of these places?
The content is largely the same and it usually only takes 2 min.
Unfortunately, I have not seen any benefit from such sites until now. maybe I'm doing something wrong. I hope your site is different than other startup sites.
Yes HN has an awesome audience. But it is really difficult to show products on the homepage.
