I just deployed the pre-launch landing page for Devolio.
I am trying to build a creative community for developers that integrates well with other platforms like Github and allows users to customize and design their identity on the platform.
The project is a work in progress and the landing page is to generate early emails leads. What do you think?
Thanks a bunch!
Here comes the rapid fire feedback!
Hope this helps! I like what you have going for a community for developers like myself 🤓
Thank you so much for all the advice.
Early PreviewThis means so much! Thank you :)
Something like this maybe:
I was more thinking more the contact form to be another section of the main page and not in the footer.
Welcome 👍 Glad to help
Looks good to me, but I’m not a designer. I thought the message was clear and I understand what you’re doing. The idea of customizing your profile definitely sounds cool. Not sure why the button on the right says “discuss” instead of sign up.
Also it looks like you have a bug with the link back to your home page when clicking the logo. Chrome gives me the unsafe warning. Probably just missing an “https” in the ref.
Oh thank you so much! Yeah I didn't know about that bug and will fix it right now. The link says discuss instead of sign up because the product isn't finished yet so you can't signup yet. Instead I setup the discuss page because I think it would be nice to interact with the people who have subscribed.
I like the top part before the fold, although my immediate impression was that there's a bit too much whitespace in the lower sections. The contact form at the bottom also seems to have a bit of a CSS issue.
Do you see this as being something similar to dev.to?
Thanks for your feedback @ZachT. Yeah I will fix up the css. What do you mean by the fold?
About your last question, I am a user of dev.to and don't think it's similar. I find that dev.to is too much bloggers cross posting and not really about interaction between users.
Devolio will be about discussion and relationships between developers, not really like dev.to
By "above the fold" I mean the part of the page visible without any scrolling... kind of an obscure term, sorry!
I'm also on dev.to and I enjoy it in small doses, but the sheer volume of cross posting and "9 cool projects to learn React" type posts does become repetitive quite quickly.
Yeah I totally agree. It's all just kind of clickbait and not personal at all I find. That's why I am building something different
Honestly I feel there's too much white-space. I think some of the blocks could do with a slight off white kind of background. Also the symmetrical balance seems a bit out.
