What do you think of my music player webapp?
Hi there,
My name is Lawrence, and I've spent the past year building my dream music player: a place where you can listen to and share your favorite tunes with your friends. It's called Juicebox, and some features include:
- Listening to music for free, in sync with friends
- Adding songs to your own Juicebox, which holds your favorite jams
- Autoplay keeps the music always playing on shuffle

I really like the design of the site! It's very clear and user-friendly, so right off the bat I'm hooked. I will admit that I don't really use music discovery apps or any other radio-like music apps, so I might not be your target audience, however I'm intrigued by your concept. My friends are more musically literate than I am, so I like getting song recommendations from them (we tend to enjoy similar styles of music, though). They also stay on top of song releases way better than I can, so if they were to use Juicebox, knowing that I would be listening to what essentially was a curated list of songs from my friends would be awesome.
After playing around with your app, here are my comments:
After clicking on a Juicebox and having a YouTube thumbnail appear in the bottom-left corner, it isn't so clear as to how to pause the sound. After clicking into the thumbnail, the song is "paused" (don't hear any sounds), but it actually continues to play through.
There isn't a way to close the thumbnail.
I'd bump up the font size of the header text and blurb, so that visitors can understand what your app does right away.
There might be potential copyright issues (sure you know that already!)

I'm glad you like it. And thanks so much for the feedback! I'm definitely in agreement that a pause button and state is necessary -- that's the next thing on the todo list. Also agree with be able to close the thumbnail.
The font size of the text has been bumped up! And there's no potential copyright issues as we're simply embedding youtube/soundcloud players.

Thanks Vinsent! Glad you dig it. That would be cool too, but to be honest, it would require a fair amount of coding effort to accomplish. Added to our todo-list, but don't expect anything soon!
