What do you think of our pre-launch pricing strategy?
Hello everyone. I would love some feedback on our pre-launch pricing. This is a tool that informs you of all “walk-ins” to your website so you can have a chat with them. It also gives you info like browsing history, previous visits etc, so that the chat can be more meaningful.
As a pre-launch offer, we are giving this out at $5 per month for life. It's free if you refer 3 others who would sign up for this. Appreciate all feedback :) Our pre-launch coming soon website is http://interr.io
it's kind of hard to commit money to something sight-unseen... i mean, in this case, entirely.

Yes, so we have around 13 subscribes on Product hunt ship and 7 sign-ups from our website. Looking forward to going down the content marketing route to get more sign-ups. That's all we have at this point as we are at the pre-launch, development phase. Any suggestions would be welcome :)
oh nice! we have about 9,500 folks on SHIP... we've been using it for a while and the results have been... meh.

honestly, i wouldn't use it. $79 a month at this stage... is a lot of money.
the app hasn't been meaningfully-updated in a long time... i think it's generally abandoned.
i actually just moved over a ton of subscribers to a different system... i'll most likely be leaving it in the coming months!

8bit and DailyDevTips are right on this: it is hard to say if this product is worth 5$.
But, for the sake of the argument, let's say it is. I personally wouldn't have a lifetime offer. I'd put it like monthly or something the like. 5$ per user might not be a great incentive for you to keep developing this, whereas 5$ a month per user could be.

Agreed. At this point, I'd rather spend $5 (even $150) on a Kickstarter project (sorry if that comes off as rude). Maybe crowdsource funding is an angle you can consider!
Must agree with 8bit, Really hard to say if 5$ per month is a lot considering you have no view of what this is at all.
Perhaps good to build your audience first through social media/mailers so they are hyped to use your product?
