What do you think of Stacks 2.0 and will you build your dapp on it?

Albert Wenger, the managing partner at Union Square Venture wrote a blog about Stacks 2.0 and said, "The first chain to implement PoX is Stacks 2.0, the latest version of the Blockstack chain, which derives its security from Bitcoin. This means that participants in the Stacks 2.0 consensus earn BTC. And Stacks 2.0 has direct access to Bitcoin state and can trigger logic in Clarity smart contracts through changes in Bitcoin state."

I looked up the PoX (Proof-of-Transaction) mechanism, and Clarity, Blostack's smart contracts language seems very interesting to me.

So if you are dapp builder, would you choose to build your projects on Blockstack Stacks 2.0? And what do you think of DeFi on Bitcoin in general?

Thanks 🙏

How is this different from merge mining? I read albert's blog post, I would want to know if the folks on stacks receive actual bitcoin or a Bitcoin IOU on the stacks network.

On the question of defi on bitcoin, bitcointalk forums are filled with ideas. Question is how decentralized is this gonna be? Someone could write an offchain app that moves value on the BTC chain, that is a good first start.

going one layer above on BTC is a great idea, if someone can pull it off.

    Loved Dapp.com by the way.
