What do you think of the current M&A environment?

Been a long time "lurker" as the kids these days say. The people / content on here is very inspiring / useful!
A question I wanted to see (Scratch my own itch) - our peoples thoughts on the curent M&A environment?
For some it seems crazy - for others dull. And, it seems fairly hectic.
As one of my first posts I'd love to hear everyones opinion around this topic.
Personally for me especially in software (Web based or on prem) - (Also after talking to about 1k of them) it seems like a lot of larger ones above $2-$5M in revenue really strongly connect with stratgic buyers - instead of an independent one.
