I have an idea for a new type of ecommerce promotion to improve cart conversion and grow sales. Can you help me assess the pros and cons of this?
My plan is to:
-Find a store or two that targets a similar audience with a different product.
-Ask them to give my customers a unique offer
-Promote on my cart page that if you complete a purchase, you get the special offer from Partner
-Serve a link to Partner’s store on my confirmation page to redeem the offer (supply a promo code or similar)
My goal is to hopefully do the same thing on the Partner’s site (or on different sites) to drive traffic to my store.
Has anyone tried something like this before?
I like this idea a lot. It could be especially relevant for Direct to consumer websites that sell big ticket items. (Think Casper before they started selling sheets or Benchmademodern.com, who sells furniture but doesn't really have follow-on items for these customers yet.)
You could incentivize retailers to embed your similar offerings with an affiliate revenues as well.
I work in marketing for a lot of e-commerce brands. If you end up doing this I'd love to stay up to date.
Thanks Lauren. I’ll let you know how it goes. Talking to some coworkers about it next week. If it moves forward I’ll definitely reach out.
Think @louisswiss has https://postperk.com/ which is kind of similar.
Thanks for the shout out!
Yeah, I'm not actively working on postperk anymore. But my cofounders are and it's still going super well.
This is similar to an early iteration. Happy to answer any q's @Iain :)
This is cool too! This reminds me of Rokt http://rokt.com
Thanks for sharing.
Not a terrible idea, feels almost like what humble bundle does by grouping up like services, but at a more micro level. Never really know until you try, so can't wait to hear about it, if you do!
Thanks Josh, i appreciate the feedback. I’ll definitely keep you in the loop.
