What do you use Spreadsheets (Google sheets, excel, etc) for? Do you prefer not to use Spreadsheets?
Interestingly, I find myself using spreadsheets instead of using (building) apps for simple functions. For example I have a budget spreadsheet that just tracks my cash in and out so I can see what I'm spending. No hook up to my bank, no extraneous features. Just a simple sheet that works and gives me the info I need to see what's going on.

I love google sheets!
Here's the most creative use I've ever seen:

Everything, I also freelance as an accountant.
I use spreadsheets to organize work, for example i have spreadshit designed for SEO tasks, the other one for social media, one another for the growth i'm seeking for and so on..
So it's for an organizing purpose !
😊I use spreadsheets to build websites using NoCodeSheets
I’ve mostly been using spreadsheets to track user onboarding steps. I’ve recently migrated to programmatically adding tags in mailchimp so I can automatically contact people that got stuck along the way. Soo much easier!
I use spreadsheets mostly for the "goal seek" functionality. Like right in front of me, I have an Excel sheet showing the pricing plans for my product, the distribution of customers across the different plans, the expected revenue per plan, etc.
All that is very boring. Where Excel really comes handy is how it allows me to answer the question: how many customers do I need to make a million dollars? The Goal Seek function makes it easy to answer that in seconds once the formulas are properly set up!
We used spreadsheets before to store the data about our customers. All the notes from previous communication, their requests, call logs etc. It was fine at the beginning but when our customer list has extended it was like a nightmare :)) crm is much betterfor this purpose
I only use spreadsheets for advanced things, that require tables for readability etc. Instead, I use my own small tool - Parsify Desktop.
That's actually such a good question. How many products have been built to replace people using Spreadsheet for random stuff!!! Is that why you are asking?
yeah exactly why. I am just curious what has been built to supplement/replace spreadsheets. Its funny because spreadsheets are so powerful, yet so many people dont like using them haha
I agree with you, they are super powerful. My guess is that spreadsheets are just poorly understood by the majority of people. Same goes with MS Word as far as I am concerned. Not that I am an expert in either excel or word, but I have seen some crazy bits over the years where people come up with all sorts of workarounds and odd uses where they are simply just not realising that there is a feature for that in word or excel
I like to use it for tracking data in areas of personal finance, auto maintenance logging, and my reading log. I do use it for a few other things as well and find Google Sheets to be pretty handy!
