I read a great post today about getting your first 1000 users (https://www.indiehackers.com/post/how-to-get-the-first-1000-users-bd243d0edb) and one of the recommendations is to build your landing page first before you make your product and to collect email addresses of those that are interested.
My first instinct would be to use something like Mailchimp to build up a mailing list but I’m sure there are plenty of options out there that are better.
What do you use to collect email addresses?
I would use Substack for a simple project, and you can even send them a newsletter for free...
for something more serious, Email Octopus. This service is excellent.
I've been using Email Octopus for a long time and have zero complaints.
My website is made with WordPress. I use the SendInBlue plugin which allows me to collect email addresses and then send emails from the SendInBlue web interface.
I don't have any, but I will try the link that you recommend.
I've used send in blue but haven't liked that they only store like 3 fields for each user.
Also used mailchimp but it feels clunky
Sounds like I should try email octopus
I've been using ConvertKit, but switched to MailerLite recently because of their up to 1000 subscribers free tier.
f your’e looking for a one-off solution to find someone’s email, you should try name2email, its actually one of the emails that are not terrible
I personally don't like mailchimp. It's a bit clunky. At WunderGraph, we use typeform and have a integration with Active Campaign
It depends on budget and requirements. If you're not looking on using marketing software to manage subscriber lists or heavily branded custom forms the simplest solution out there is a Google form in my opinion.
Mautic is pretty good if you have the skills to host it yourself. There are good hosted options too! Way cheaper and more scalable than most SaaS email marketing tools
