What do you use to make your investor or monthly updates

I am working for a state run venture firm(LaunchTN.org). I want to make an investor update system that uses the startups analytics and revenue to generate the important stuff VCs care about (productivity, growth, and market) and startups can just connect what they care about. Also can just output the important updates for monthly reports.

Is there anything like this? Also is anyone interested in participating. I know investments are not the indie hacker way but thought this community might have some great insights.

Hey @Celey - we usually expect our startups to update us either monthly or bi-monthly depending on their status.

There's no strict format but a one-pager would be recommended. https://visible.vc/ is a great resource where you can find these templates or even use their tool.

    Happy to exchange ideas tho.

Thanks for the feedback. Visible.vc is an amazing product but unfortunately it is made for post funding companies. I think of this more of a common app for VC's to check out on startups. Basically setup the sharable metrics VCs want and forget about it. VC can reach out if their interested and State Gov't venture firms can actually invest in companies in their state.

We use our CRM and a template. Baremetrics may be close to what you're looking for.

thanks for the direction. Baremetrics has the metrics not sure if they let third parties access companies data or share it with investors.

Understand the problem and have been very close to building it before....
I still might, has just been shelved due to other priorities, not yet abandoned.
    Potentially open to a collaboration....

for news letters mailchimp and revue are pretty good. otherwise, nothing beats a simple email doc with excel charts.

At first it will definitely be a google spread sheet! If there is more interest, I am thinking I will do a newsletter for various industries might be interesting to have it be paid.
