What does a website monitoring service need?

Some of you maybe know, that I'm working on a web application called ServerMonitor. I struggle a bit to find out, what potential customers could need. Monitoring services out there are mostly the same, but what would you need from a service like that? Is there something you miss?

It seems like a pretty competitive area. There's a ton of different website monitoring tools out there. I even created a free one hoping to get some leads for my main product, but I haven't gotten any traction with it.

Maybe if you could find a way to put a new spin on it instead of up / down monitoring, performance, etc.

Random thoughts (there may already be other services that offer these tools):

    • Monitor for SEO issues on blogs or other sites that change often
    • Similar to above but monitors your ranking on various search engines and gives recommendations on future content you could create that would allow you to rank higher
    • Provider regular recommendations on how to improve the speed, usability, etc.
    • Create a version of a site audit, use the tool to run free site audits and then parlay that into professional services type work.
    • Something that is tied directly to cloud services pricing and helps move docker images between cloud providers to save money.

    Good luck.
