What does your sales funnel look like? (email frequency, popups, deals etc.)

I'm a technical founder, who recently has been spending a lot of time learning about marketing and design, and how they impact a user's decision to buy/use a product. I don't have a problem with innovating on features and products by listening to current customers and testers, but I can admit I am clueless in terms of sales funnels.
How many emails is it recommended/okay to send to a freemium user? What do I write in these emails? Do I offer certain discounts that appear after a set amount of time? What software do you guys use to automate these emails (currently implementing Mailchimp, but I can see these prices take off if I start getting 1000+ contacts)? What else is part of the sales funnel - is it just emails or also the pop-ups saying "you've reached your limit, upgrade" etc. What worked for you and your website?

It's been a few weeks since I started learning about sales funels. All I can say so far is that it is a very complicated process, which involves a lot of factors.

I know what it feels like. I've been dealing in IT equipment trade industry for over a decade now. Tried it all, from old fashion, aka manual prospecting to different designated marketing campaigns, ready to call lists and automated tools. And up to this day I couldn't tell which of them worked best and most importantly — how to correctly approach the prospect.
Ever since 2020 businesses have moved online a lot, most of my partners went bankrupt, so in order to stay alive, I had to move my business online too! Opened an e-commerce store and started working on visibility.
Best choice I ever made. Went from B2B sales to B2C and never looked back. It did take a while, but with the help of an agency, I have managed to establish my sales funnels perfectly.
I can't tell you yet what works and what doesn't, what you can and can't do, because I don't know them all either. That agency I mentioned above covers most of the process.
All I have to do is check the result.
