What features are you *not* building?
I was just writing out a feature list for the product I’m working on validating (https://premiumjs.com).
I included a section called “later” that included stuff like subscription payments, ratings and reviews, and tracking downloads.
Those are probably important eventual features ... but they’ll take too much time away from shipping the core features and learning from users.
What’s your product? And what features Are you intentionally not building? Why?
A catalog on our website! I'm making a browser extension, www.BuyLocalized.com, that shows you where consumer items are made while you shop online.
I get request after request for a website where users can browse without needing to install a browser extension. The thing is because I'm doing the USA first, there are no electronics, and there are a bunch of other products with poor options. Our current database will only give a good option 10-20% of the time, and I don't believe people will continue to come back if that is the case, whereas with a browser extension it doesn't matter so much because they can just continue looking on Amazon themselves. We will make a website in a year if we are around then, and have a huge database which would allow our user experience to be good enough that our retention won't be awful.

I am... also interested in this information. So that I know what to build into Nodewood. =)
Currently, I'm betting people would rather not build user auth/management (including email confirmation, password reset, all that jazz) and subscription management the most, so that'll be the initial rollout. But features like team management, statistics/analytics, etc, I'd love to hear more from eventual users and communities like Indie Hackers.
Also, I'm thinking it'd be neat to build those eventual features as libraries that can be sold through PremiumJS, for example, but also bundled into Nodewood, so I'm excited to see more!

I have to create two separate to-do lists for all of my projects where I force myself to add all of those nice-to-have features, or else I'll never ship.
