In 2018, when my startup failed, I had to go back to corporate life.
I've worked in a lot of different companies, industries, and roles. I struggled to piece together a story about my career.
And that's a terrible situation to be in.
Not to mention, I:
It was completely disheartening.
Then, I realized I could use my diverse career history to find what I'm good at and love to do - my superpowers.
So, I did.
Once I reframed my diverse career history into a positive, interviews became a lot easier.
No more uncertainty about what love to do.
No more negativity around my diverse career history.
No more trying to figure out how to talk to recruiters.
Instead, I used a simple framework to use my diverse career history as a positive:
• Write down commonalities among the roles you've had
• Group them together and summarize them
• Describe examples of your successes in each group
So remember, linear careers are a thing of the past.
Use your experience to your advantage.
Keep trying.
