Adding social logins to our SaaS has increased conversion rates by 15%. It has also reduced email requests related to forgotten passwords by 20%.

Social logins, which eliminate problems like password fatigue and login friction, are becoming popular in SaaS applications and platforms. The popularity of social logins is no surprise. Users are more and more accustomed to sharing their personal information on social media, and many people find it easier to log into an application with their existing account than create an account from scratch.

However, social logins have a place in user management only when used in the right use cases. You need to keep it optional and strive to limit the number of buttons you are offering.

Considering my past experience, social logins do help in boosting up signups and conversions.

    in our case (Magnetiq)
Social login increased signup rate, but this users have a lower conversion rate (signup>subs) than others. We're trying to work out the correlation at here.

    1. Increased engagement
Social login increases user engagement by providing users with a seamless experience across different platforms. Users don’t have to create yet another account just to use your app. Social login also helps build trust between your brand and its audience.

    2. Better conversion rate
Users who sign-up using their Facebook profile get a higher conversion rate than those who do not.

    3. Higher retention rate
Users who sign up using their Twitter account stay longer in your app, compared to those who do not. And they are less likely to abandon your app after signing up.

    4. More conversions
The number of people who complete a purchase after logging in via their LinkedIn account is much higher than those who do not log in at all.

    5. Lower churn rate
Users who sign in using their Google+ account tend to stick around longer than those who do not sign in at all.

    6. Higher customer satisfaction
People who sign in using their Instagram account report being happier with your product than those who do not use any social login.

    7. Improved SEO
Having a social login makes your website easier to rank in search engines.

We added social media logins (Google, Twitter, Github, and Apple) for both HeyForm and TinySnap, this resulted in most of the customers using social media accounts to log in.

Did you get more signups? if so what was the percentage of the increase from adding social logins or did the social logins just change how they logged in?

      1. 1

We added a Google login widget on the homepage of HeyForm, resulting in 90% of the new signups coming from Google accounts, it's a faster way to let users try your product instead of spending minutes signing up with a traditional email-verification way.
