What I Got Wrong About AI for Therapists

When I started building in this space, I assumed:

Writing notes takes too long.

So I focused on:
• better outputs
• faster generation
• cleaner structure

But I was solving the wrong problem.

The bottleneck isn’t writing.

It’s starting.

After talking to therapists, we kept hearing:

“Once I start, it’s fine.”

That changed everything.

Instead of asking:

“How do we generate better notes?”

We started asking:

“How do we make it easier to begin?”

That’s what led to building something like

— where you can quickly speak or type a short recap and get a structured note draft without recording sessions.

Still early, but this shift feels fundamental.

Curious if others building in this space have seen the same thing.
