What I learned after two weeks of launching my first landing page

Hey, I hope your week started great,

It's the end of the month and I wanted to share some learnings during the two weeks of my first landing page.

The first problem noticed my friend when he asked why is it not showing up on Google. It wasn't showing because when I deployed the page on Vercel and connected a domain name, it added an SSL certificate and made the app accessible through the HTTPS protocol, which Google didn't have time to index yet. I thought the problem was SEO meta tags so I tried a lot of methods and none of them worked, so after reading more, I realized I can ask google to index the pages through Google Search Console. It solved the problem and now my page is the first on the Google search page when searched by the name. (Page title and description are really important)

The second problem was that no one knew this page existed and friends and family quickly ran out. So I chose the easiest thing I could think of, running some ads. I chose Instagram ads because I thought for my niche website there are more people that I want to target on Instagram rather than Twitter. I put a $20 limit and ran the ad for 6 days with the main goal of "clicking the link" I provided. It generated 60 clicks and visits to my landing page and the ad was shown to ~33 000 people so either the targeting was wrong or no one is really interested in this product. Out of those 60 people, no one left their email addresses to be notified when the website is launched.

The numbers are low, but I won't give up just yet. I added a playground page for users to try the process of creating a coupon in hopes they will have a better understanding of what we provide. Will try different marketing ideas. Bought a MakerBox Ultimate bundle to learn more about marketing and how to approach it correctly. And will continue working on the page. Payments, emails, and memory creation are the main goals before launching the page.
