I spent last week listing my SaaS on every directory I could find. These are the parts that mattered. Skip the rest.
The ones worth the time
Product Hunt gets the attention, but the long tail sends traffic for months after launch day. The review directories (G2, Capterra through G2 Digital Markets, SaaSworthy, SourceForge) have high domain authority and double as comparison-page magnets for search. Smaller launch sites like Uneed and TinyLaunch have free scheduled-launch slots that cost nothing but a form.
The gates nobody warns you about
What I would do differently
Batch the boring profile data first: a description in three lengths, a square logo, two or three screenshots, a one-line tagline. You will paste it twenty times. Tag every submitted URL with UTM so GA4 shows which directory actually sends traffic, and check the live listing, because most strip everything except the bare domain. Don't pay on day one. Free tiers cover most of the value.
I build Referralful (affiliate software for SaaS, disclosure: my product), so some of this was self-serving research. The playbook is the same for any B2B SaaS.
Which directories moved the needle for you? Curious which ones I'm sleeping on.
